ell46 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I've decided to reinstall DAO to get rid of that troublesome patch, but feel a bit nervous about loosing saves and mods etc, so a second opinion would be REALLY appreciated. So far I've moved the Character files and the Override folder with all my Mods in, should I move the AddIns folder as well and are there any other folders or files I should move before the point of no return? I hope someone is around now as I'm sitting waiting before hitting that button :whistling: I'm also a bit nervous about removing registry entries, I've got CCleaner which I hope will do the job for me, but just in case any advice about this process would also be appreciated.
Balagor Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Don´t be nervous. Go and uninstall. A window will pop up and ask if you will keep your savings. However don ´t use that if you want it ALL CLEAN. Save your folder with you save games on an usb stick, before you start the uninstall, that´s much better. Uninstall all. Delete all Bioware folders in your Documents and Settings/My Documents foldersRun a REG_EDIT and delete every thing that says Dragon Age Or Bioware. You now have a clean disk ready for a new install. Only issue is, what bugs are hiding in your save games. I have used this many times my self. It helps a lot.
ell46 Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Excellent thanks for the reassurance and help.
