haloblivion Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 The Elder Scrolls IVHIGH ROCK Hello.I am aiming to (re)create the world of High Rock in Oblivion. You will travel to this province by boat from Anvil and soon later, arrive in Farrun at the northern tip of the High Rock province. You will encounter new creatures, characters and items. A new main quest and many side quests. In High Rock, it's all about fame and the main quest will see you gathering renown enough for the other City-States to allow you access to their lands. Your mission is to unite the near-warring counties of the province. Each ruler giving you a task to do, before joining your cause. But corruption is everywhere, and a conspiricy will arise and try to take over High Rock whilst the states are at peace... Good luck trying to make it back to Cyrodiil alive. This mod will be released in seven parts: The Heightmap, The Five Kingdoms and their Extra Quests, then the Main Quest (the start of which is included in the second part). Currently, I am beginning creation of the mod. If you would like to help, simply PM me telling me what you can do. I will then choose a sutible job for you. P.S. If you vote in the poll and select the third option, please post here telling me what you would change. Thank you.
haloblivion Posted April 3, 2010 Author Posted April 3, 2010 Yeah, I like it =0 Thanks. I had a look at your mod in your signature - interesting...
David Brasher Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Sorry to be critical, but I think your mod idea is way too large. Large modding projects have this way of failing. I recommend that you start out small. You could make your plans such that if you can't find anyone to help you or all of your helpers disappear, you can still finish and upload a form of your mod. I think you should completely finish one small area at a time, so that whatever you do will be usable and uploadable. For example: Make a village. Make all the houses, all the NPCs, all their AI, all their dialog, all their quests, and all their clutter. When the village is all complete, play-tested, and debugged, then go on and create all aspects of your dungeon, or whatever is next on the agenda. I would love to play your mod, but if the project is managed such that it fails, I will never get to.
Pronam Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Added to the above, it might be better to join up the existing group that's working on a High Rock mod.
haloblivion Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Added to the above, it might be better to join up the existing group that's working on a High Rock mod.If everyone were to just join in on one mod then there would only be three or four good mods out there, nothing for the little guys.
Megatarius Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 You do realize how long this will take you right?
haloblivion Posted April 4, 2010 Author Posted April 4, 2010 Yes I do. EDIT: Well I now have 8 people who have said "Yes" to the poll and thus, I will commense making High Rock tonight or tomorrow (Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)) Wish me luck!
DariusMoranda Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Excellent idea,I am happy to see that people comes up with ideas for huge mods and new lands, that keeps this game alive, definitely, til the TES V comes out. I am making a huge mod,as well, and I know how much time it needs,it already took a nice portion of my life in the last couple of months, but I won't give up,even if TES V comes out tomorrow,I don't care. Good luck, and don't give up,no matter of the troubles you might come across in the process. Captain Darius Moranda
