troy896
i find it stupid that you only get him during the final battle. i Want him throughout the entire game instead of allistair. Maybe there is a way to get him at the beggining with/or replace allistair.
omegadk1
It wouldn't make sense story wise. He would be fighting with you, but be fighting against you and all grey wardens... your story though.
DarkeWolf
You could always do what I did, to recruit Ser Cauthrien.I installed this mod- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=740I then converted one of the followers in here, to look like her. You however, dont get any personal quests, dialog options, party banter, or any of that. Just a fighter on your team that looks like them. after installing the mod, I went to Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\AddIns\PartyRecruiting\core\data and dragNdrop the .erf file into the toolset. In there, you'll find several UTC files listed. I'd recommend going with Duncan, Eamon, Or Cailen for the project, tho moreso with Cailen, as my version of Aemon is Bugged, and won't fight correctly. Besides, you may end up liking Rikku, and having more mages around for your team never hurts! Ok, select the UTC file for the character that you want to mod, right click on it, then choose extract resource. for simplicity, I just extract it to my desktop. now close the .erf file in toolset and drag n drop the .utc file into toolset.what you're going to want to change here is SoundSet to ss_loghainand AppearanceData -- HeadMorph to hm_genfl_loghain that will make him look and sound like loghain. I have not yet figured out how to change the displayed name, so that it reads something like "Ser Cauthrien" or "Loghain" tho :sad:IF you want him to start out with Loghain's skillset, you can change packageai to AIP_Follower_Loghainyou can also try changing package to Loghain. But I do NOT know what that does. So remember what you replaced there, (write it down) just in case it breaks the toon. I have NOT as yet, been able to find loghain's gear set, so I can't tell you how to get this toon to start out with Loghain's armor. :sad:But if you do find it, what you would want to edit is Itemlist 0 and 1. Those are the hand slots so that would be his weapon(s) / shield 0= primary. 1 = offhand (shield/dualwield)and Equip_Itemlist 0-2 (sometimes its 0-3 if they have a helmet) 0= chest 1= boots 2= gloves 3= helm to ADD an extra slot to it, you can right click on where it says Equip_ItemList and choose add structure, which will add a 3. You have to manually add all the additonal fields tho, so its easier to forget about that, and just throw a helmet on him/her ingame. Once your edits are done, save the file. Then copy and paste the .utc file from your desktop (or w/e) into your documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override folder. Dont worry if you see a file named "charactername".utc backup. Non-essential. Now, there IS a couple of bugs that I have found with the Party mod. 1) Some people have issues getting the right character stage screen to show up. I had it for a while, it was caused by Enigma Battle dungeon. To fix it, I had to uninstall both mods (removing their files), Load Party first, and then load the interfering mod. Loading up the game between each install. They dont like level 14. For some unknown reason, you can't do their level up, when they hit level 14 (on my games, at least). At that point, I just leave them out of the party till they hit level 16, and then it's all good. May be a conflict with my no auto level mod, I havent checked into it.On a few occassions, these guys tend to go immortal for no reason at all. Most of the time, they die just as well as you and I. No explanation for it.The game ignores them on some occassions. Meaning that they dont have a nightmare in the fade. You cant choose them to fight for you at the landsmeet (that was a disappointment for me, I wanted Anora to fight her father!). Or to lead the other team in the attack at Denerim. One cool bug about custom party members, is that they follow you all the time, unless you MANUALLY take them out of the party. I had anora with me the entire journey thru the fade. And she and my Cauthrien follow me around in the party camp.
