Adding VFX to an armor

Recommended Posts

I am trying to add visual effects to an armor, Flames or lightning. So I created a crust vfx, using the VFX editor, using my armor mesh. (http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/VFX_editor)

Now I would like to attach it to my armor.

I added this effect in the VFX base.xls. Then I added a new property in the itemproperties.xls and attached the effect to the property. With the editor (hopefully the new property shows up there /images/forum/emoticons/happy.png)I added the new property to the armor

Unfortunately the effect does not show up on the armor in game.

1 Does the process seem correct - is this what should be done to attach visual effect to an item ?

2 Is there a tutorial somewhere on VFX base, because this one http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/VFX_base.xls misses a lot of information - maybe I did not filled it correctly

3 How do you export/compile the vfx project that you created ... maybe I missed a step here (put it in the override)

Your help would be much appreciated
