creating new weapon models

Hello,

I'm new here and maybe I'm just the way too stupid but I'm always searching a method to create a new weapon and I do not find something.

In Reallife I have a pistol and i want to build it for FO3. Maybe you could give me a link with a tutorial or write one for me.

short:

- make fotos from various angles (big ones, too) ... or don`t as you have the real thing to look at ^^

- one from the right side as background for your 3d-software

- choose a 3d-modeling software (i personally use blender, there are many more, though few of tem are free)

- use one image as background for blender

- start modeling (it may take a while to look decent, if i project from my first tries in Blender ;) )

 

if you are done with blender (in the first runn ;) ) look at the sticky http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=82738 it describes the way from your 3d-software to the game pretty good.

 

out of curiosity: what pistol do you want to model?

hmm the direct link doesn`t work ...

But i found it over the base side ... nice looking gun, definitely not something you see everyday :)
