Keanumoreira
Not exacly...In Acnhorage you wear a neuro suit.I presume it was used to simulate pain and such feelings more realistic while in the battle sim so that that all the soldiers would have experienced the full heat of the battle! In the vault 112 sim you just wear a vault 112 standard suit. The sim wasn't ever ment to replicate the poo reallisticly. It just added basic feelings like happiness, sadness, etc. While dieing in the Anchorage mission would have a physical impact, thus causing cardiac arrest, dieing in the vault 112 sim would cause mainly brain damage, thus causing brain death. I never understood how they survived in that Sim for over 200 years; where does their waste go, how do they get food and water?
loopz
Interesting point. I would assume that using the pods (whether Anchorage or Tranquility), your body would go into a stasis/trance state, suspending all functions external to the simulation. Nihilisaurus
The pods in the vault all have nutrient tanks on one side and in the citadel the equipment says they have something like 500 years worth of nutrient solution. The stuff is dirp-fed right into them, I doubt there actually *is* any waste apart from recycleable water...
Johssy
I always thought only their brains were being kept active? It is, afterall, what they really needed for the simulation right? Brain in a vat sort of thing. I don't know I just made that connection 'cus that Braun guy seemed like the kind of person interested in such things. Saving them? You already kind of did, if you killed them all with the failsafe. Freed them from the torment of Braun. I suppouse. As for the computers saying they're still alive... well, Developers mistake #21309. My thinking is that all those pod monitors are the faulty things. Over a century left underground with nothing but a couple maintainents bots? Somehow I doubt those monitors are very reliable. Could be, but then what about every other computer in the wasteland? They didn't have any maintenance bots to tidy them up and they sure seem to run smoothly, hm? The pods in the vault all have nutrient tanks on one side and in the citadel the equipment says they have something like 500 years worth of nutrient solution. The stuff is dirp-fed right into them, I doubt there actually *is* any waste apart from recycleable water... Yay for lazy explanation! Nutrient solution to last 500 years... Though that further points to the Brain in a vat thing, that I could kinda believe as I have no clue how much nutrition the brain actually needs. Wait, I guess they could've said the waste is recycled into nutrient again somehow, that'd make more sense than just plain saying it lasts for 500 years. Then again its just a game :teehee:
iavor55
It IS just a game, but when a game or book or a movie provides you with enough material so that you may argue about something then you DO!
Keanumoreira
I was wondering about that too, but even if the waste is recycled constantly to provide a steady food/water supply, wouldn't the nutrients be lost eventaully?
