IWolfieI
Okay most of my mods won't work on the texture replacement onces will, whilst all other won't work. I've looking around the forum, and I think the problem maybe cause im using Windows 7. Should i uninstall Oblivion and install it into a different folder on my computer to fix this? bben46
The problem is not Win7, but that the game was designed for WinXP which did not have UAC. In XP it seemed like a good idea to install to the program files folder, as that was where MS said programs should be installed. Then when Vista came along, MS decided that anything in the program files folder should be protected from any changes - such as mods. The best solution, if you want to use mods, is to install outside of the protected program files folder. The usual way is to create a new folder C:\Games\Oblivion then uninstall from the default location (moving it will not work) and reinstall it into the new location. Any other games can use the same folder, for example Fallout3 would be installed to C:\Games\Fallout3. Is this process, above, absolutely necessary, or will the mods work if you do install them within the Oblivion Data folder, within program files? IWolfieI
Hey thanks for the advice. The mods are working perfectly now. @tgpardu: You will need to install it outside of the program files folder as he said because of UAC. It stopped most of my mods from working the only ones that would work as i said abovewere texture mods.If your worried about losing your game saves you won't, they are stored in 'My Documents'
