yoyoguy678
Has it ever worked? With nothing loaded at all - No OBSE, No OBMM, no nothing. Just install straight from the cd and run? It it has, then I doubt if your disk is corrupted. I'm not familiar with the Bioshock/Oblivion bundle. Is Oblivion on a separate CD? Yes it has, I played it for a while with no mods but recently I started adding mods. And yes, Oblivion and Bioshock and 2 separate CDs.
bben46
Here is another troubleshooting idea. Revert to vanilla, check the rev number - it should show on the load screen in the lower left corner. Here is my revert to vanilla article - how to go back to the original state without reinstalling.http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=340 Then, if you need to patch: Bben's Patch Advicehttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=

I have tried reinstalling with no patches, nothing but it still crashes. I am going to try to download it in the default folder and see if it helps. Jenrai
Its crashing before or rather when you see the Bethesda logo? Are you sure you removed all the mods? Because that is, more often than not, a missing master mod for a mod file you have trying to load. Jenrai
bben46
My complete reinstall tries to make it like Oblivion has never been installed on your computer. It does this by cleaning the registry after using the uninstall on the disk to uninstall the game. Make sure everything relating to the game is either renamed or deleted- such as renaming or deleting your data folder and the oblivion folder that is in the user folders (documents and settings on an XP system) It is possible that the bioshock/Oblivion combo disk puts something I don't know about into the registry just to make life difficult for us users. I do know that the antipiracy on the normal Oblivion disk will not allow installing if certain DVD copying programs are found on your hard drive (Alcohol, Daemon Tools etc) and I have heard of a rare problem if you are running a utility program named Process Monitor. Turn off process monitor if you have it, you may have to uninstall any DVD copy programs. It is very important to reboot the computer - turn it all the way off. After uninstalling before running the registry cleaner. Then reboot again after running the registry cleaner. Then when you do reinstall, be sure to install outside of the program files folder to avoid the nuisance of having to deal with the UAC.
