Is Anybody Thought About Adding More Flying Stuff??

There are imps, they can fly. So at least it's possible. I'm sure people will. Maybe a new GIANTS mod for Oblivion? GIANTS was the most downloaded mod of morrowind, adding almost 200 new monsters (new meshes and textures) to the world. I hope something like that will come to Oblivion too. If it does, there will be lot's of flying creatures, i'm sure.

They may do this but hovering i guess would be more accurate. As someone pointed out in another thread "flying" at least in the form Morrowind had levitate for would make some problems since you cant just walk into a town in Oblivion. You have to actually open doors to towns to allow the game to load it. I wouldn't want levitate if it means running into a giant invisible wall where graphics need to load. So if they do make a mountable flying horse, mountable hovering horse will probably be a better term.

I am not a modder so I may be talking bananas here but subject to limitations of CS and animations I can see no reason why producing flying creatures would be difficult to those determined to do so. As Povuholo points out there are imps, though they flutter rather than fly.

The production of rideable airborne mounts is on the face of it more difficult but could probably be handled. It is already possible to view the cities 'from the air' to a certain extent from high points outside existing cities. So it ought to be possible to fudge a means to appear to be overflying them at a reasonably high altitude (high enough to avoid the need to show npcs). It would certainly be possible to have flying creatures 'land' in the cities. You would get an instruction that you could park? dock? secure? your griffon, pteradactyl, dragon or supersonic broomstick in e.g. Bravil and if you pressed 'yes' you would be there the same way as if you walked through a door. So I think if anyone could be bothered to take the time and effort there ought to be a way around the apparent limitation. But it sounds like a hell of lot of work to me.

I think supersonic broomstick is the way to go...I think it would be a ton of work (like weeks)...IMO

lol, what are u thinking of killian, new mage class... Witch?!

Although come to think of it it would be nice to have more flying, fluttering stuff about, more variation in opponents is always fun. I had hoped for dragons etc in morrowind without modding it after seing the statue opf the dragon wyvern thingy in ebonheart, but if someone made one for oblivion along with other stuff it would be much appreciated on my part.

I was just being me...pretty dry sense of humor :P I think skyward fighting would be really cool (especially on supersonic broomsticks) not only do you get killed you fall 5 ft to your doom...Also an arena mod where you fight up in the air on like a platform would be neat, if they dont fall off kill them and use the grab key to throw them off 8)
