It can be useful to have a method like a linkbutton (or link) near a file (ex. near the download button) to send a message (a pm) to every users who endorsed a mod in one click when you released a new version of the mod. A checkbox (like "Inform your endorsing users of the new version") could be also added during the uploading.

This can be also an incentive to make users to endorse because if i endorse a mod that i like, i know that i will be informed on new versions in a direct way.

 

Something like:

Title: <the name of the mod>

Body: New version released: <versione> (automatically picked up from the file version), link to the mod page: <link> (automatically picked up) - even better the direct link of the mod.

Informing users of updates to a mod is already included in NMM. Not just those that endorsed, but everyone who has that mod installed using NMM. And there is a graphic informing them if they have endorsed that mod, or declined to endorse. And NMM allows direct linking to the mod page also. - Of course this only works for those games that are supported by NMM.

 

For non NMM users, There would have to be something in the user preferences to allow this. So they don't get the notice unless they opt in. Or if it is the default, allows them to opt out.
