Nadin
Aahh....I think I see it. You, my friend, need a new graphics card.
Drackion
Uh no  This is a new laptop, and the 5650 is easily powerful enough to run F3. I can run Crysis on high at a reasonable framerate ffs :P I can try running it on a lower setting, but it doesn't make any difference. Going to try reinstalling to somewhere other than program files, see if that helps >_>
Nadin
Really? Huh.And yeah, a new directory is really the only thing left I can think of. This is weird.
elustran
Did reinstalling fix your problem?
Drackion
Apologies for not replying sooner. I think I did fix it in the end with a reinstall to C:/Games instead of C:/Program Files (x86); it seems to play nice with mods, FOSE and all my old saves too, which is nice because I'm 90+ hours into my current character with a lot of the game left to play :P I think trying to use the Steam UI beta bugged it up a bit which was causing my stuttering issues, the new one doesn't seem to affect it though. I will try and see if iNumHWThreads=3 works later today, I'll post back to let you know if it does. A big thanks to everyone who's replied to this :D
Drackion
Tried iNumHWThreads=3, sometimes it crashes and some times it doesn't. Ah well, worth a try I guess.
33hannes33
Drackion, can you please tell what you did, cause I also have the studio 1749, and I tried to make fallout 3 run, but nothing has worked yet.I made the changes in the .ini file, and I also reinstalled the game in an other directory. It made the game freeze les often but, I still can't play longer than 5 minutes. I don't know why, but the freezes have stopped! Drackion
Hah, just got the email about this, glad you fixed it. I found moving it to C:/Games, and following the tweak guide Alexx378 posted on page 1 helped.
