teos
Hi! I searched the forums and googled as much as I could, but I didn't manage to find an answer to a question that's been bugging me. So: is there a mod that allows holstering rifles properly on your back with backpack equipped? I mean they should hang there straight next to the backpack, not crossed over the back under the pack. The closest thing I managed to find was RR Manifold Holster, but I don't want to wear more than one weapon at a time. Also it kinda mounts the weapon wrong way around. Being able to properly mount my AR while traveling would finish the look I've been going for my character for a while now. Any info such a mod exists? Khet
Ah, that annoys me too. It's the reason I end up using my silenced Glock or silenced P99 far more than my Silenced AK-74... I've been looking for a while now and haven't found anything either, so I believe it doesn't exist. If I knew more about the mechanics of modeling and how the items are arranged and/or positioned while holstered I'd try my hand at correcting it myself. Still, I'll keep looking as always and if I find something I'll try to remember to let ya know, heh.
teos
Thanks, I was kinda afraid that there probably isn't such a mod, since I'm pretty thorough in keeping up to date on the mods. I just have this nagging feeling I've seen a picture somewhere with properly holstered AR beautifully hanging next to a backpack on some character's back. Maybe it was just a prop and not a real usable weapon.
ecksile
Unfortunately its an animation problem and i don't see a fix seeing as how we cant add more animations =/. You can maybe "fake it" using the already included animations and adjust the holster animations to sit next to the backpack but you will have to then adjust the equip animations so they don't look like hes grabbing in the wrong place (if that bothers you). And also the animation will always be in that adjusted position no matter if you have a backpack or no backpack or a different backpack etc because we can only use that set of animations. OR you could "fake it" by taking a manifold holster approach and adjusting each and every backpack mesh and weapon mesh to make it look like the weapon is holstered on the side of the pack when the pack is equipped but you will have to make a separate mesh for every backpack and every combination of guns you plan to use. Then you will need a script for detection that checks what gun you have equipped and what backpack and then equips the correct mesh as well as unequips and reequips the correct mesh when the weapon is drawn/holstered (unholstered the backpack without the gun and when holstered the backpack with the gun). Then you will of course have the glitch of still having your ordinary gun equipped across/under your backpack when holstered (refer to manifold holster screenshots). And of course this way has animation ugliness as well. because your not really holstering to the same spot etc etc..Either way it all comes down to animations hopefully FO:NV doesn't have these animation limitations. teos
To be frank I could probably live with the equip animation being a bit off if the gun would just sit in the right place next to the backpack when holstered (and work otherwise normally of course). Grabbing air for a second would be a small price to pay.
