Game crashes when trying to cast a spell or shooting an arrow

Hi guys, I've played oblivion for many years, and i have quite a lot of experience with installing and uninstalling mods etc, though not creating hehe, anyways,

I recently started a new game cause i wanted to play through the game again, and then i thought,

"Hey! Maybe i should play through the game with some mods again?" Though i have done this before, but not the past 3 - 5 times I've played through the game vanilla style. Anyway. So i installed a few mods. Here's the mods listed.

 

Darnified UI

Excalibur Sword Mod

Masamune Sword Mod

Deadly Reflex 0.5

Tyrael Armor

Better Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary

Kiyoshis New Vampires

 

Ok, to the problem. Whenever i try to cast a spell, for example, the simple fireball spell you start off with, the game freezes, leaving just the music going, while the rest of the screen freezes, this also happens when I try to shoot an arrow with a bow.

I have no clue why it does this, though i know it's some of the mods causing this, but I don't know which one. Does anyone have the same problem, and maybe solved it ? Please I would really appreciate the help.

I could try to turn off mod after mod and in the end see which mod made the game freeze, but that could cause problems with the saves. And I thought i would ask here first to see if anyone know a solution or had the same problem.

EDIT: Problem solved, apparently it was the Horse Combat file that comes with the Deadly Reflex mod that causes this problem.

So if anyone have the same problem try deactivating the Horse Combat file from Deadly Reflex.

 

Hope this helps someone who maybe have the same problem and reads this.

Strangely enough I've never seen this, and I always run my game with Deadly Reflex & Unnecessary Violence active (I've said a dozen times that I simply wouldn't be playing the game anymore if it wasn't for these two, so bad is Vanilla combat) plus another 235 or so mods (if I unmerged the esps I've merged to be able to play the game as I want, I'd be easily over 300 mods)

Whilst I'm not doubting this, perhaps you should look into the hotfix for DR. I know it causes a lot of problems because it changes a lotta things, and the hotfix was actually for a CTD issue, so I never needed it as I didn't suffer from excessive CTDs, but it may help with your problems with it. Not sure how well DR would run (if at all) if you removed that requirement to or changed it to a different Esm/Esp, but maybe that's worth looking into too.

 

Glad you got it running, but I know for me it'd be a damn shame to loose any or all of the functionality of DR.
