EDUC8TR
This is simply a question I had because I am not sure if it the mods or my computer that is causing my game to crash. I honestly don't think that it is a problem with the mods but my game always seems to crash at specific points. For example I recently started a new game (fpc noble) and my game is crashing every time the fpc and the mother talk. When it crashes I always get an error message that basically says that my display drive or drivers has stopped working correctly. So I am not sure if it is my computer causing the crashes or not. Any advice from anyone that might have had the same problem? Thanks.
bben46
Crashing in the same place in the game is not a computer problem.
EDUC8TR
Crashing in the same place in the game is not a computer problem. Could it be a mod conflict that messes up the game and causes it to crash?
DarkeWolf
have you installed any mods which affect the dialog at these points?have you installed any mods which affect the morphs of any of these characters (If so, check to see if those mods need to have any installed mods required for the morphs),have you installed any mods which affect the scenery in these areas, such as higher resolution, or cleaned up graphics mods? ummm did you have any issues with the installation of the game? Or had any computer crashes that have caused problems? Is this a laptop or desktop? Is the video card securely inserted if it's not an onboard card? EDUC8TR
Really the only mods that i have installed deal with add-ons. Like new armor, weapons, some morphs like bodies, faces, hairstyles but those morphs work perfectly with no trouble. No mods were added that change affect the scenery or dialog. I suppose the closest would be equal love. There was no trouble installing the game though I do have awakening installed as well but not the 1.03 patch; all this is on my imac and being run through boot-camp on the windows side. The video card shows nothing wrong and the drivers are up to date. The error my computer shows every time it crashes is that the nv4_dip display driver has stopped functioning correctly. This has shown every time the game has crashed previously at any point in the game. Thanks.
DarkeWolf
hm. K. Have you installed any other new programs or hardware since this started happening? has your mac had any crashes that could corrupt the drivers?I'll have to profess taht I dont know much about macs, do they have a powersaving mode? If so, is it on? That could be causing your vid card to not be functioning to it's full spec.have you tried reinstalling your vid card drivers? EDUC8TR
I have not installed any new hardware or programs that i can think of. Only things that i really installed were anti-virus software programs and the like. My mac has not had any crashes to my knowledge but I am not sure about a powersaving mode on the windows side. I know that the screen saver is active and comes on after like 30min of inactivity. I may look to see what I need to do to either re-install the drivers on the windows side or to upgrade them if necessary. Thanks.
DarkeWolf
powersaving is most common on laptops. its kind of a cheat to increase battery life. what it does is reduce the output of the cpu, ram, vram, monitor...quite a bit of the hardware...in order to extend the battery life. I didnt know if maybe macs have it or not. do you have any kind of nvidia or gforce emulation for your windows side?
