Megatarius
Are you sure you installed the correct python? The latest version won't do. It has to be 25. (Maybe I'm wrong about that...) Look on the .html help file. There's a section called "If Wrye Bash won't run", recommending a fix using a bug dump report feature in the DOS prompt. I have kind of the same problem as you. My Wrye Bash won't run either, but I don't get that error message. Mine just doesn't run. I"m using Windows 7. Are you using Vista? Maybe we have the same problem and our operating systems are reacting slightly differently. Here's what I do to make it run: • Open a command shell (Start: Programs: Accessories: Command Prompt). • chdir to the Mopy directory. "chdir" means "change directory". E.g.: chdir C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy • Type: c:\python25\python.exe bash.py -d Obviously, you should substitute what's up there with your install directories. This opens it for me every time. I have to do it this way every time as well, not just sometimes. Quite frankly, Wrye Bash is too complicated. It has a bunch of nice features, but you really have to go in deep to get it to work sometimes. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As fun as Oblivion is, there comes a time where you just spend too much time on the technical stuff and forget to actually play the game. After installing FCOM and Wrye Bash and Python and all this extra crap, I found myself staring at my character's back in the game and not even wanting to play any more. After a day or so I did again, but this stuff just gets super exhausting after a while. Hopefully this will work for you.
bben46
The technical stuff is the game. That other is just for testing to see if what you did worked this time.
