tmons78
i finally heard the phantom sheep while i was playing over the weekend. i had just transported to the stronghold valenvaryon, walked out the door from the propylon chamber, and "bleeaat." now, i know there was nothing anywhere remotely near me at the time, except for a few orcs (and they don't make that noise doing anything i've ever seen them do, but of course maybe the male and female were lonely, and...ick! :o ) so, since i know nothing was around, i am going to have to agree with the nordic invasion theory. HornedReaperMJL
Oh yeah i've heard those crazy invisible sheep baaaing all over the place can be a real pain its like what the theres sheep in morrowind? I'd have to agree with the nordic chamleon sheep idea that sounds the most logical. OR maybe theres some massive horn hidden in the ashlands and on the other end is a sheep that baas and because of all these hills caverns ect the sound echos over the land????? Only thing i would see with my explanation is that the sheep would get a dry throat after a while but if theres alot of them they can keep taking turns  How about this sort of like the nordic one but anyway the sheep were all hunted down for they're meat eventually they became extinct and now they're ghosts haunt the ashlands to baaa at unsuspecting travelers.
Ta'Thalos
LOL I like the Chameleon idea, simply genius. :DBut what really spooked me was that on my very first trip into the infamous Red Mountain, I'm constantly on the lookout for Ash Vampires and Ash Slaves and Ogrim Titans and whatnot.. When suddenly I hear this "BAAAAAHH"!! I just stop in my tracks, and after I got over the shock I found it pretty damn funny. :P
ObsidianKnight
Yeah, I love the 100% chamoeleon idea too.Weird, I just listened to that sound file. That does sound like a sheep! Ill have to try to hear it.Great story man. You see an ascended sleeper running at you, and you hear... "BAAHHH!!!!"The ghosts of the extinct sheep. Someone should make a graveyard mod, and have one of the ghosts be a sheep.
Guest
Actually, I have a suprising theory, that may be based more on random coincidence then actual proof, but every time I heard that noise, it only slightly proceeded the arrival of a ash storm, or slightly after the end. So is it at all possible that the game creators slipped the sound in as an alarm for the the weary traveller to get inside before one of those terrible ash storms arrives. Of course, like I said, it may just be startling coincidence that those two events just happen to occur so close to each other. But if thats not the case, then I'm more then willing to support the Nordic Invasion theory.
Malchik
I take it you are replying to the recent thread in which Marxist posted a link to this thread. We would be inclined to treat posting in a thread not accessed for nine months as extreme necromancy punishable by hanging by the toes over a vat of bubbling sewage. On the other hand, as MB pointed at it, I'll let it and you go (vigilantes take note!). But Artirus, check the previous post date before posting again, please. SilvuruAgnost
I belive that it is really like this totaly uber sheep who is the real god of morrowind who is talking to his followers and to scare the hell out of anyone.
Malchik
Unless anyone has anything new to add (in which case PM a moderator to open the topic) I think the phantom sheep has been well roasted and digested!
