chaospearl Posted April 12, 2010 Share Posted April 12, 2010 I love the concept of this mod, but unfortunately I can't get it to work. At all. I approach the target and pull out my weapon, but nothing happens -- target is supposed to glow. I've tried various targets and various bows, but the game acts as if the mod isn't even there. Not a single indication of it working. I've got it loaded absolutely last in OBMM, so it's not a load order conflict. I'm guessing that something else I'm using just somehow totally nerfs the training dummy mod regardless of load order, but I can't imagine what it could be. Nothing else I have touches archery that I'm aware of. Anyone happen to know if Setsuna's training dummy is incompatible with anything? I'm up to over 200 mods so I hesitate to post the full list, but I will if need be; I just wanted to see if anybody knows off the top of their heads, "Oh, Setsuna's doesn't work with Qarl's Harvest \ Fran's \ Poison Arrows \ whatever". I don't use it, but I would tend to think the only mods its gonna have a scrap with would be ones that alter the way your exp is configured, either Archery specific (if I remember rightly, FCOM Archery does, as do a couple of others) or overall experience mods, such as leveeling mods, or the major overhauls. If you are using OBSE, it'd probably be a good idea posting that load order so Razor and the other guys that do use it could take a nosey and see if they notice any potential conflicts. You're using Darn... good good. Thats handy. Got to one of the dummies that you're sure is added by this mod and hit it. Lots and lots. With as many arrows as you can be bothered to (because you're using a slower levelling mod wich is likely to slow it up some) Does your marksman skill not move at all?Only reason for asking is that I'm thinking the glow might be a magic effect, and you also have mods that are changing those (namely SM, amongst others) so I'm thinking that the magic whatsit... erm... ah, shader, thats it, just ain't playing. In which case I believe the script should still run. I can't look at the mod from here so I could be wrong about that. Depends how the script works... but yah, anyways. Just wanted to double check that what we are looking at is a non-responsive mod and not a misplaced graphic. Apologies if you already did that. Note the difference between "figured it out" and "fixed it". I dropped some completely new fresh target dummies into an empty cell and VOILA, there's the pretty white glow and all the other cool stuff Setsuna's is supposed to have. So the mod IS working; it's just not working on the four targets I tested out before my original post. Turns out (after more coffee) that I happened to test it on four painted hay bail targets, and THOSE don't work with Setsuna's. The only ones that work are the hanging dummies you find in the Fighter's Guild and some guard houses. My guess, and it's going to take another few cups of Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla to prove this, mind you... is that the hay bail targets aren't working because something is making them harvestable. You can march up to a hay target and activate it like any other herb or flower to get some hay which is feedable to horses. I'm guessing the script that makes them harvestable is overriding Setsuna's. Only problem is I'm not sure WHICH mod does it... should be easy to figure out, but I ran out of coffee around 3am and gave up for the night. It's probably either Qarl's Harvest or one of the two horse-command mods I'm running. Unfortunately, changing the load order doesn't fix the problem -- I'm gonna have to dig around a little and merge the two conflicting scripts so it lets me harvest the hay AND fill the target with my arrows.
