Progress

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

first milestone: implement continuous bleed effect that triggers blood splatter

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the bleed effect: well progress was made able to cast effects on the player if he receives a hit. but still a little buggy lots more needs to be done

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

this concept is part of a major overhaul mod I have in the plannings.

it aims to bring extreme realism to skyrim regarding combat and who knows what else or where it's going.

I have not come up with a name for it yet but oh well...

first step: turning HP into a bloodpool

- HP system has always been an extreme eyesore for realism in any game. often turning a lot of games with wonderful strategic elements into a dps racing sim. -> FAKE & GAY(no offense just a quote)

2nd step : away with thee weapon damage !

what we want are weapon types. dull / heavy / light / edgy / sharp / whatever

what do edges whether sharp or dull have in common?! yes!! ON IMPACT THEY CAUSE WOUNDS ! <3

wounds that make you bleed / give concussions / whatever. wounds that make you lose blood !

and what happens when you dont have enough blood?

- thats right : you die ! And this is how the combat system in this concept will work and aims to achieve.

therefore Blood will be your major resource. if you lose too much blood your life source fades and thus will your physical and magical abilities too.

resulting in less swing power and stamina regeneration as well as becoming unable to cast certain spells and less magicka regeneration.

regaining blood is only possible through eating / drinking and well ... waiting ! vampires may also feed on prey to recover blood a lot faster but they are also unable to naturally recover blood over time or from eating food or drinking.

note : wounds can still be healed through magic, potions or band aids !

so what will be the results of such a change?

- you will not 1hit kill anyone just because you are higher lvl than him. There of course as realism demands will be ways to 1 hit kill people. But it will happen because you know how to slit a throat or catch someone unguarded instead regardless of lvls.

- various conditions will occur over a fight. You may be able to snatch away the enemies helmet then crush his skull with amace, or break a rip hindering his movement. You may also be able to break an arm rendering your opponent unarmed at your mercy. Breaking the enemies leg will drop him to the floor etc. How detailed this can be implemented is to be seen. for now a simple version adding a status effect to force a certain type of animation on an npc will do.

- blocking and dodging will really become super mega important. ( i know there are mods that already feature this but thats not enough !) , btw why the hell is there no side rolling? Definitely a thing that should be added.

- being hit will cause you to bleed and consistently lose blood until aided or the wound closes naturally, which depending on how servere the wound may take a while... maybe even too long .

- npcs stand a lot bigger chance on killing you... i believe it will be almost impossible to not die at least once with this feature regardless of the difficulty. cause sometimes s*** just happens ! Even tho npcs may not always be smart enough to aim for vital organs ( if such a system is even implementable) they can still swing at you randomly and hit vital organs by accident. they are also capable of blocking and actually just hitting something will always result in a huge advantage due to the nature of realism, meaning staggering, falling or injury rendering unfit to fight. So i believe there is that kind of balance in this and the player simply has to be smarter than the AI to be able to progress.

spells in such a system will of course be a lot more powerfull, but have to be used more consistently. peopel wont burn just because you throw some flames at them in order to make them burn you'd have to consistently hurl fire at them . as well as frost spells ahve to be used consistently in order to eventually freeze your opponent to death. lightning spells prove a lot more effective there, but they have the drawback that metal armors for example are conductors and will protect its wearer like a car would protect you from a lighting strike. Also spell use will be very limited.

even for a commited mage spell spamming will be hard if not impossible. because guess what happens to your hands when you release fire from them? or ice? yeah they will become very chilly or hot >_> ! ouch i say !! so great power comes with sacrifice.

using spells will also exhaust the caster and result in fatigue(stamina drain).

this is where stamina and magicka as resources should be mentioned:

while magicka will recover considerably faster and is used up very quickly

stamina will be a resource that drops rather slow and is also recovered very slowly. ( talking about HOURS here man)

while you have a lot magicka flowing through you tho you will actualyl be more aware, your attacks may be more precise generally your ability to concentrate is better. thus spells cast with full magicka are on the one hand cast much faster but are also more powerfull.

stamina on the other hand in combination with blood represents your overall strength and fitness. so you will experience a considerable difference in strength, regenerative ability and speed between almost dieing and tired or just getting up after a good 8 hour sleep - but not just your physical ability is affected by stamina but your mental too, magica regenerates a lot faster if you're in good shape thus casting spells while having a lot fo stamina and blood will not just be less exhausting you will recover from it much faster too (be aware that continuous casting will drain a lot of stamina thus weakening magicka causing stamina to be drained even faster and you get the idea...)

So all 3 resources will flow into each other. You'll be a complete mess if you're drained of all 3 resources and that's how you should leave a tough fight. This is the goal of this mod i guess

enough for now I'll bring more structure to this concept as I or we(if i was able to thrill / inspire you) progress.

This mod will be FABULOUS !
