TheOnlyJanitor
Ever feel, ugly?Have little or no patience for making yourself attractive?Disappointed that your "twin" partners look nothing alike? My idea for a mod would consist of 3 lesser powers, each with a functionality similar to a "bodysnatcher" concept. FIRST POWER!Copy Appearance - would take all the required data (Race, face, hair, eyes, ect) from the target and keep it in storage, perhaps in text document or file in your oblivion directory. Would be an on touch lesser power, for simplicity's sake. SECOND POWER!Set Appearance on Self - Would be the same as if you were to open race menu, and set all the sliders and hair/eyes/race/gender to the last character you used the first power on. You would become their twin. THIRD POWER!Set Appearance on Other - Same as above but would take effect on your target, instead of yourself. I figure a mod like this wouldn't be incredibly difficult to make, and would certainly be useful for impatient players, or people who suck at using the sliders.Who knows, maybe if this idea really took off, the first spell can open a menu with slots for different bodies, and you can make a collection?I got the idea for this mod back when I installed the "setbody/setself" spells, and figured why not have something similar, that would change races/faces? kieranfoy
A nice idea, but the basic premise (that it would be easy to do) is, to the best of my knowledge, dead wrong. The only thing one can change about an NPC in-game is gender, and that will crash the game if you're in the same cell, and the face-texture doesn't match the body. In short, brilliant idea, but I'm pretty sure the game engine won't allow it.

In short, brilliant idea, but I'm pretty sure the game engine won't allow it. I myself have frequently changed my NPC's in game, through the use of running scripts in the console, but even assuming that one couldn't change the NPC's in game, it should still be possible to save a "copy" of that character to a file, then use the other spell to give a token to the NPC, that would mark it for changing, on game exit or load or something. If the face texture didn't match the body, then that would be a problem with the NPC you copied in the first place, and the question would be then, why did you copy it in the first place? But of course a mismatched texture can be rectified with good old fashion "showracemenu". Its pretty impressive the things that can be done with the script extender, so it's really not all that out of the question.

TheOnlyJanitor
Well, I'm sure you're an experienced modder, so you know best. Good luck with it!Thanks for the sarcasm, but the reason I posted this in the File Requests/Suggestions forum is because I don't have the time or patience to actually work on this. kieranfoy
Wow, you must be psychic, to be able to tell when I'm being sarcastic! Quick, could I get a few winning lotto numbers? EDIT: In case you missed the point, THIS time I was being sarcastic. No need to give yourself a headache looking into the future.
Deleted1662706User
There's a mod that lets you do this. It also lets you "have" their lives, own their shops etc. It's called Wrye Morph. It's a really hard mod to install =/

kieranfoy
I...I... I was wrong. My God. I have to rethink my life! ... Okay, that's it! I'm going to confess twenty years of sins to a priest, give up drinking, take up smoking so I can give it up, and help little old ladies across the street! Anyway, good job, Lordesther! And good luck, Janitor, with the Wyre.
eleglas
Saving information to file is something do-able in Visual Basic (I'm a programmer in learning), however I don't think its possible through scripting in the GECK or even by using OBSE; although I'm not 100% sure about that, I've never modded in OBSE. Unfortunately I'm sensing A LOT of CTD's with a mod like this; it's just not worth the effort to be honest.
