Oblivion can't open up.

Hello guys,

 

I recently installed Oblivion again.

Added mods and stuff.

But when i try to open it, i see a black screen at first, as it wants to begin the 'Bethesda' title screen.

But then it crashes.

Anyone recognize this problem?

Did you try it without the mods first?

It is a good idea to start the game without any mods and make a save to allow the Oblivion.ini to initialize.

There are several things that cause that problem. Some are simple to fix

Make sure you have the latest patch.

Make sure you have OBSE if any mod requires it.

Make sure you have any other required mods active for all of the mods you installed.

An incompatibility problem caused by load order.

Installing a bunch of mods all at once without testing each one as you installed.

I'm sure BBen has already covered everything but when I read your post the first thing that popped into my mind is...if everything is installed correctly you may need to open up your game with the OBSE launcher. At least that's what happened to me with some mods that I installed and found out that it required Oblivion to start with it. :) Hope you find the solution soon.

My Oblivion is working again.

I forgot to donwload OBSE AND i didn't run the game vanilla. xD
