runevirage
Hi, I'm about to play Dragon Age for the first time and I'm wanting to install the high res texture mod and the sacred ashes face mod. I was wondering if these had any compatibility issues with each other or with the game whatsoever (e.g. will the game ever crash/freeze due to them)? Also does anyone have any suggestions for other mods that I should install to get the best experience possible on my first playthrough (but not wacky or weird mods, only those that enhance presentation)? Thanks. (Sorry if this is the wrong forum)
DarkeWolf
keep in mind that some of the face mods require additonal mods for them to work correctly. so check the descriptions of said mods in order to see if you need to have some of the chargen mods too, to make them work correctly. (this is because they could use hair, eyes, skin tones, etc that arent included in the vanilla game).now also keep in mind, that when dealing with chargen mods, that each of these mods require a file called chargenmorphcfg.xml. the game can only read ONE chargenmorphcfg.xml file, so if you install more than one of htese mods, you'll have to compile these different files into ONE singular file, and delete out all the rest. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=971 can do this for you, IF the author of the mod you are installing included the chargenmoprh file with their mod. Otherwise, you'll have to open the file with notepad, and manually add the new filenames to the list yourself. I will also mention that a few of these types of mods have issues with patch 1.03, and will not work with that patch. So unless you are planning to install the Awakening expansion don't patch to 1.03. I recommend White Teeth as a MUST. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44I also recommend Dragon age Mutator- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=166 which has several mods all rolled up into one .exe file. While it's more of a gameplay mod, it removes some of the problems of having to balance a team around a rogue, to unlock boxes, doors, etc. and has some other nice bennies as well.If you dont want to see your characters wearing helmets ALL the time, there's the no helmet hack- http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=202 Welcome to the nexus, and I hope that you really enjoy your first playthru of DA. Its a great game!
