Lehcar Posted July 30, 2014 Share Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Everyone keeps saying that the Dragonborn is an isolated case of having a Dragon soul, and that it wouldn't be passed down to their biological kids if they had any. But then why was Tiber Septim able to pass it down to all his biological descendants? Why would his soul be genetic and yours not? I don't get it... These bloodlines descend from the Dawn, and are not spontaneously generated. Tiber Septimwas one line, the Dragonborn is another. Even the Greybeards recognise there are likely more Dragonborn out there. I'm not sure whether your Dragonborn's gift will be passed on or not, but I do know previous Dragonborns blood was passed on. For example Alessia and Tiber Septim and Reman Cyrodill (who may or may not be a descendant of Alessia). On the topic of the Greybeards saying they're are more Dragonborn however...you are wrong. They said they simply do not know if you are the only Dragonborn of this age. You could be the only one or there could be hundreds scattered somewhere across the world (highly unlikely seeing as your character is called The Last Dragonborn according to the prophecy). Like Dragonborn in the past centuries or millennium. That doesn't mean that last year a Dragonborn walked up to High Hrothgar and said "what's up!". He is saying that the Dragonborn in the past have fallen due to their arrogance and that this current Dragonborn should not make the same mistake. Arngier states you are the only one to reveal yourself (considering a Dragonborn kinda needs to be around a dying dragon, that makes sense, because their practically extinct). Combined with the out-of-universe statements made in at least 2 interviews (one for Gamestop, one at E3) it paints a very clear image that there are more. You are even called The Last Dragonborn. You can't be The Last Dragonborn if there are other Dragonborns in Tamriel running around! You are misinterpreting the interviews man. The only two Dragonborn around is the player character (The Last Dragonborn) and Miirak (The First Dragonborn). The Greybeards at the time when you first meet them did not know about Alduin's return or that you were the Dragonborn of the ancient prophecy. Therefore they did not know you were The Last Dragonborn of legend. @notmyhomeYou are given your Dragonblood as a gift directly from Akatosh, You are not blood related to any of the previous Dragonborn. Game Informer, March 2011 The Blades were once the servants of these Dragonborn, but eventually latched onto a single bloodline, the Sepim's. Your character is from another line.
