shayferal
I'm working on a mod idea that a friend of mine came up with, the concept is simple... I want to make a sound that would be activated at random (preferably) or in intervals and could be heard from a distance from it's originating source that would get louder as you approach it's source. Is it possible? And if so, could someone give me some directions?
Purify111
Yup.You need the audio file that would be placed for example in sound\fx\amb and the GECK.First you need to locate a sound file in the geck(the files that control the audio file's volume ect.).I don't know how to create a new one so i always go to one from the audio-sound tree in the geck.Change the ID,locate your audio file and it can be saved it as a seperate file. Then you need to make a script for it to play.I wasn't able to create a new script so i did the same.I changed it's "scn" <name> Script and i saved it as a new script ready for editing...However i don't know how to make the sound play from a source and heard from a distance. That's what i am trying to figure with ED-E also.It should be possible though. shayferal
I guess a plausible example of this would be the creaking noises that come from the electrical wire support towers, if I could find their sound files I could probably copy information from that. shayferal
Does anyone else have any ideas? What I'm trying to do is to get an object, or just a location to emit a sound at random, or on a schedule. I don't want it to loop, I've got a lengthy sound file to play instead.
