I think I broke something :(

Hiya guys,

I got a bit carried away and installed a bucketful of different mods into Dragon Age and I appear to have broken something somewhere - for some reason, I think I've broken Warden's Keep - at least the location is not appearing on the map, and when I headed into my camp the individual you talk to wasn't there, and I didn't get the quest appearing in my journal. Now, I've eliminated a couple of the mods I've installed, since I don't believe it could be them (the natural bodies, improved sex scenes, all the graphics mods that I've installed in other words) and I'm now trying to find out if the issue lies with any of the others - has anyone else experienced something like this at all?

The other mods I've got left which I've not eliminated are as follows:-

Devout Armour (Doubt it would be this one)

Extra Dog Slot (It'd be odd if it was this one, but I guess it's possible)

Grey Warden Castle (Not sure how the locations tie together, but I guess it's possible this would stop the location appearing on the world map)

Polygamey (Errr... should be fine)

Alley of Murders (Same with Grey Warden Castle I guess)

Expanded Inventory (Should be fine)

Quartermaster Tolby (Currently my number one suspect - it's an amendment to the party camp, so it's possible that'd break it)

Rasana's Inventory

Lock Bash

All Origins Playable

Thinking about it - I didn't see the location flagged for Return To Ostragar either, which is a bit of a pain. I've also got Awakenings installed as well, but can't see that breaking any DLC....

Can anyone help me out here?

Actually, out of your lineup, I'd rate Awakening as your primary suspect. Not only because other users have lamented similar issues after installing the expansion (myself included), but because it DOES block DLC content from the game. Even to the extent that it blocks mods which are based off of dlc content, or use the same meshes, or even bare similar names. For instance you will NOT be able to get the Grey Warden Runic Armor to work if you install that mod AFTER installing awakening, or on a new character started after installing DAA. Because it's based off of the armor from Warden Keep.

All Origins Playable- possible, have heard of some bugs with that mod, tho I doubt it.

Lock Bash- nope

Rasana's Inventory- have heard of issues where it can cause gear to be invisible in the game, but not of any causing map pins to disappear.

Quartermaster Tolby- nope, been using that since day 1, no issues.

Expanded Inventory- same as Tolby.

Alley of Murders- possible, never tried that one.

Polygamey- nope, never had issues with it.

Grey Warden Castle- never had any issues with it.

Extra Dog Slot- not very likely, tho slightly possible I guess. Its got bugs associated with it, or at least it did, unless they've updated it.

Devout Armor- highly unlikely, all it does is add armor.

Well, bad news. My experience was that just uninstalling awakening didnt fix it.

I had to uninstall all of it, remove the registry entries from the windows registry, and completely reinstall.

BTW- if you go this route, don't let the game autopatch, or it will put you up to patch 1.03, which will give you more headaches. Hunt around on google, yahoo, etc for dragon age patch 1.02 and youll find the patch to manually install it. 1.02a is for english version, 1.02b is for other languages.

Also, if you have any screenshots that you want to save, move them out of documents/bioware/dragon age/ before doing this, or you will lose them. You can however, tell the uninstaller to keep your savegames. Tho I recommend backing those up anyway. BUT- dont try to actually play a savegame that was made after awakening. those blocks are in your savegame too. so what you'll wanna do is when you get your GAME installed, go in, create a new, clean save, minus any mods, then close the game down. load up your mods, and then go from there.

DLC will have to be downloaded again. But your account should show that you have paid for it already, so that shouldnt be an issue, unless you've tried to DL it more than 4 times.

Its unbelievable that a company would put out a piece of crapware like this that blocks content that you have PURCHASED from them.

Hrm....

Must have missed something somewhere - just stripped out Awakenings, all the reg keys I could find and reinstalled to v1.02a, but still my Premium Content in my journal only show Sulcher (sp?) Pass - although I've not installed any of the mods yet, so I know it's got to be related to the main game itself. Too tired to try again now, but I'll give it a go later on

I would simply spawn him with a script. The toolset name is spo000cr_levi, you can find in My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Offers\dao_prc_onrx_1 the creature, scripts etc.

It is also possible that the dragon age updater process couldn't download the offer file (which is responsible for spawning Levi). Maybe try reinstalling: http://na.llnet.bioware.cdn.ea.com/u/f/eagames/bioware/dragonage/offers/DAO_PRC_ONRX_1/DAO_PRC_ONRX_1_1.0.dazip

If the location on the map doesn't appear maybe reset all plot flags (you can get them with logging http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/ECLog.ini) so you have to talk again to him.

Thats an interesting idea HDHD. I'm very curious as to whether the block file in awakening would affect that or not. Considering that the block goes into affect before any of the mods/dlc load, I think that it would still block it. But, as I said, I'm very, very curious to see whether or not that would work. Too bad I wont load Awakening back up into my game (4 installs of DAO, another reinstall, and my key won't work  )
