First project, what's shredding my house mod?

Ok, i'll try and keep this short. I'm finally diving into modding, so I'm trying something basic. So i'm doing a house mod following some online tutorials and experimenting on my own. I copied an interior, cleared it out, threw some things in, and teleport linked the interior door to an unused static door in good springs that I replaced with a non static door....

okay, then I saved the file under a new .esp, loaded my game, activated the esp, ran to good springs, and.... no door, no teleport, no presence of my mod as for I can tell.

so I load up the geck, load the master file, open the esp, under interiors is my copied and renamed game space, great right? load it up and it is shredded. half the walls are missing, set pieces are scattered and floating in the void...

rinse repeat two more times same result.

I feel i'm missing a step in saving my work or maybe somehow unstabilizing the file when I activate in game or, hell I have no idea...

...

why no awesome? why poop?

Okay, so I did a ton of research, combed through some forums, etc.

changed BUseMultibounds=1 to ...0

^^did not work.

Thought it might. Spent a few hours starting from scratch. Took a Nellis Hangar B copy and stripped it down added some things. Saved it under a new esp. and quit. Reloaded geck. Loaded esp. as active file. All good so far. Everythings there. So under the same active esp., I go to throw the nellis hangar exterior in the middle of nowhere for some teleport linkage....

Downhill from here.

Geck froze up on loading exterior cell. Wouldn't unfreeze. Note, I got the esp on autosave ever so often. shut down frozen geck. reloaded everything. and my custom nellis hangar loads in pieces.

as in only half the walls are there. Interestingly enough it seems only the wall and floor segment that I placed objects on or around didn't get deleted from my cell window object list.

I'm actually learning a lot doing the same work over and over and over again.... just would be a hell of a lot more satisfying if it amounted to something.

If I am missing something very basic a quick point in the right direction is all I need and would be much appreciated.

Nellis hangars shouldn't use bounds, so I don't think BUseMultibounds helps you in this case. I don't get why it destroys your house in this way, this shouldn't happen, not at all. Want to send me the esp? so at least you have a reference on another computer / another GECK. Actually, wouldn't be bad if you could send me two copies, one before it breaks (so just after you duplicate the cell and make few stuff, then save), one after that you notice it is broken (when you re-open on GECK etc.etc.).

When you're copying stuff and renaming it, you are choosing YES to the create new form prompt right?

From what I understood, he duplicated the whole Nellis hangar cell via GECK.

ClusterChuck you can upload it on some free sharing website like Mediafire or some Google Drive if you have an account, wherever you want, then send me a PM with the download link.

Or, if it's a small file, you can attach it in this message box: if you do More Reply Options you should see an Attach Files box below
