Romance Issue

Hello!

I have completed Origins, believing that I have romanced Morrigan completely.

I have now completed the DLC, Witch Hunt and it appears that I have not. Is there any way at all to modify the save game file (using the Dragon Age Toolst) or use cheats to edit the romance settings for Morrigan, so I can relay the ending of Witches Hunt, as I'm after a specific ending (so I can carry that save data on through the rest of the DA series? I'm not playing through all that Origins ending and the DLC, I don't have the time.

Short Answer: No.

Longer Answer: The ".das" files (the actual "saves") get larger the further into the game you go. But the Toolset chokes on a ".das" that's over about 1MB. By the time you're at the end of the game it can be many times that. (I just checked and I have a "Door to Rooftop" save that's 13.4MB!)

Even longer Answer: The specific flags involved in the Warden's final Relationship Status with Morrigan are among those that are known to get borked during any save made AFTER the "Post-Coronation" auto-save. So if you go around the Throne Room talking to everyone, or you go finish "one last side-quest" (there are at least four one could do after the Final Battle) then make a save (or the game does an auto-save) you'll have the BioWare defaults baked-in to that save when you import it into DAA.

Those defaults are: Warden performed the DR, (if male, else got remaining Grey Warden to perform it) and Morri at "Friend", no matter what "really happened". This became a Known Issue, but by the time it was finally understood it was too late. This will NOT be fixed. (See "Dragon Age Keep" for what BioWare is doing to correct/prevent this going forward.)

Additional Info: There were no plot flags beyond the decisions made in DAA that carried forward into DA2. So whatever your Warden did in the final scene in WH doesn't matter for DA2 or DA:I. As noted in the link above, for DA:I there'll be no "import" of previous save data at all. You will be setting your world-state directly using the Keep. No need to re-play the games to get things "just things just the way you want" for Inquisition.
