Problem with No Helmet Hack

I have been using this mod for a while now, but the last couple of plays a problem has arisen, in that when I go to equip a new helmet it is showing that some of the characters are wearing 2 helmets not 1.

 

Also and I don't know if this is what should happen, but when the inventory is open there is no helmet showing in the helmet slot to be able to grab and remove.

 

Is anyone else having this problem and how do I sort it out?

Ah, the dilemmas of no-helmet mods. I've had these troubles from time to time as well. Although I don't believe I've ever had double helmets. Which one are you using?

 

Part of the issue at hand is how the no-helmet mods work. They don't actually make the helmets invisible, but they move them to an unused equipment slot in the game that devs decided not to use in the long run.

 

Usually a quick reload from a save state fixes these problems.

I updated the mod a couple of days ago to 1.5 hoping that would end the problem, but it didn't.

 

Normally I use the 'Resume' option, I've just tried a Load saved game and it would appear that I'm not wearing any helmets at all, the other characters are and they are only wearing 1 so that's an improvement.

 

When I swap their helmets the one they are wearing doesn't appear in the inventory, so I've no idea what has happened to it which means I can't use it on anyone else, plus when I put a helmet on my character I can still see it, so now I am totally confused.

 

I did use the rule book to toggle on and off but that didn't seem to make any difference you can't see their helmets but I can see mine.

Its usually caused by a conflict of mods nothing else, i have had the same problems till i cleaned the override folder and tried to make sure that 2 or more mods don't override the same files........speaking of that the no Helmet mod seems to work with all my mods perfectly so i used that instead of no Helmet hack which totally removes the helmets making a battle with swords swinging and blood splattering rather umm unrealistic ?

ohhhh i remember this bug, it has to do (most of th e time anyway)

with ANY mod, override, file, etc that uses a modified bitm_base, and many popular mods do, such as improved atmosphere and...who knows what else

 

you can either remove this file completely, or edit the "helmet" parts of the grid to match the one in No helmet hack (love that mod :D )

 

or i suppose you could even delete the entries all together

otherwise you'll have make sure that the helmet mod takes priority in the override which can be pretty random and often changes as we all add/remove content constantly

 

should fix it :]

Thank you for the advice I will keep them in mind if I have further problems for sure. I uninstalled for the rest of the problem game and have since cleaned up my folders using the DA Mod Manager so far in this new game everything is working as it should all ugly helmets gone at least from sight.

 

:laugh: it's funny the little things that bug some people and not others, I prefer not to see the helmets at all even when fighting, like the armour I often wear armour with low stats rather than something I think looks ugly.

I'm new to using the mods on this site but I'm also having a problem with this mod and im betting it's just some dumb mistake I haven't figured out or I'm overlooking. I downloaded both the origins and awakenings version of no helmit hack and installed them using DAO-modmanager and it reads compatible and I have a couple other working mods all ready installed in mod manager but for some reason this one even though installed is doing nothing no special book or hidden cloak slots are added like the mod says are supposed to be added. I looked over as much info as I could about the mod in the description area were you download it and also checked the pages of posts were you download it and can't find out why it's not working. Other mods I currently have running are natural bodies and merchant price change and skip the fade but don't see how these would conflict. (though I just installed skip the fade so haven't seen if its working either.)

 

EDIT ADD: Ok I got it to work finally, I ended up using the DAupdater instead and it worked fine through that couldnt get it to work using the modmanager
