mod issue

hello every one. this is my first post so please be gental XD ok well for some reason when i down load a certain type of mod (race mods) when ever i get into a battle with more then one enemy i get horrible lag. my fps drops from 60 all the way down to 0. i know its just the race mods and not the other ones i have because i have tested each one individualy and in combinations. um im pretty sure its not system wise why im lagging but its always a possiblity. if you need to know my specs let me know. but the main thing that i want to know is that if there is some way to reduce the lag so i aint sitting lagging for hours on end just trying to get from megaton to anywhere else. ^_^ and thanks for any one who can help me ^_^

If the race mod uses very high res textures it could be the race mod. Especially if things are OK if you only meet one of them.

It could also be in combo with another mod in the same area that uses high res stuff. or a mesh that uses lots of RAM.

 

A globe mod for Oblivion by David Whitefang (if I remember his name correctly), brought my old PC to it's knees if I got closer that a

meter or two. The globe (and all his stuff) was very nice, but not optimized. It was the mesh in this instance.

aight so i think that the mod uses high rez textures cuz it looks epicly amazing. the mod is called Shojo Race and i also tryed out that star fox one too and had the same issues but not as bad as the shojo race. would there be some way i may be able to make the textures smaller?

I'm currently using the Shojo Race (have been using it from the time it was released), and I have no hassles whatever .... the textures that the race mod uses are those from Dimon99's type 3.

Perhaps you should load Dimon99's mod after you install the Shojo race mod ... link to Dim99's mod http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4280 .

Then you could open the "TYPE3 BODY V3dot5" folder (from D99's mod) and choose one of the "non-HD" bodies - you will have the Cali, Berry or Slim body types to choose from.

P.s - dont forget to choose the body textures in the "TYPE3 V2 TEXTURE pack" which is included in the mod - in this file first choose your "texture" then the "options & customisations" and in this file choose your "STYLES for V2 TEXTURE".

 

This should work.

aight thanks i will try that. also do you think my graphics card might be a lil outdated and that could be a reason also? im running a gtx 285 with 2gb ddr3 ram and a 3.2GHz dual core cpu

I'm no expert when it comes to graphics cards and the like but from what I do know (not much), your spec seems pretty ok .... when I first started F3, my specs were much lower than yours and it worked fine ... you just have to make sure that you stick to "settings" the game chooses for you when you first install - then as time goes by open up your "setting" in the game and just "up it" every now and then until you feel that you've reached the limit of your hardware before it begins to "ugly" your gameplay.

alrighty cuz i was thinking it might have been my graphics card acting up but wasnt sure. well ima try fixing up the mod with the stuff you mentioned earlyer and see if i get some improvements

 

 

Edit: ok i tryed the way you mentions a couple posts earlyer and i still get alot of lag. not as bad as before were i would have to wait 15 min for it to stop but still annoying. now it takes about 5 or so min for the lag to stop or if i try to run away from enemys.
