ninjaking92
Ok I tried playing it with windows live closed :( and now the damn thing wont start. I am going to uninstall it and re-install it in a different folder. Seeing as I have to do this every time I use a script extender of sorts I should now just not use a script extender...or any mods that require me to. @TT Thats just what I did but thats a very nice video. ninjaking92
Got done reinstaling and went to play it...no mods (clean and new) and its still not working. It worked before I went to try to install FOSE! WTF is going on with this. I might stop playing Bethesda games completely if I cant get this working. pkleiss
When you reinstalled, did you clean out your fallout folder and all the sub-folders too? If there are any left over files in those folders, they can fu your game when re-installing. I have seen issues with some mods and FOSE make the game unplayable. Enhanced Weather comes to mind. BossDweebe
Sorry to say your FOSE problem is not a Bethesda issue.Bethesda has it's own issues, but FOSE, and mods is not one of them. I doubt you had to reinstall in the first place. It's more likely you had to focus on FOSE.It would have been better to remove all the FOSE files and sort out the game from there and then reinstall FOSE.It is really pretty pointless to reinstall the game with no mods and install FOSE as it is only an app the facilitates other modsscript functions. When you reinstalled in a different folder I am assuming you also un-installed the original game. If not there could be conflicts in a number of areas. I don't know if you have installed many other mods, but if not, it may be better to stick with the ones that don't require FOSE. If you get them right then you should have no problems with FOSE especially if you read the read me. The requirements and limitations are spelled out pretty clearly there. Having said that, FOSE is not difficult to install you just drop the files (not the folder) into the FO3main folder, and all should be good. I've said it before - what you think cannot be wrong is likely what is wrong. Modding has to be done by the numbers. If you arefrustrated go play another game for a while and come back when you can focus. EDIT: Just found this on the 'General Modification Talk' page - Maybe it will helpFrom the 'Modding Links' Thread by - Zuzaski How to use Fose with DLCs (and without "Live!")Make sure that hidden files and extensions are shown in Windows Explorer, check the settings!XP: Options>Folder Options>View (Vista: Organize>Folder and search options>View)Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC Vista: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC Copy the files to: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data (or wherever you installed fallou3) (each DLC has 1 esm and one or two bsa files; they have to be moved/copied as a group)Use FOMM to enable the DLC's esm file,
