Maniac3020
Okay, long story short, I made a change to a little custom mod of mine, but now I want to undo it, and I've already saved. I see a couple backups of my esp, but they are in a .bak format, and I have no Idea how to change them to an esp format. Bethesda's GECK wiki was no help, they just told me to rename the file, that didn't work. How do I restore the backup?
pkleiss
You just have to remove the extra stuff at the end of the backup file name to make it an .esp file again. Example: Backup Filename = SomeMod.esp.1.bak turn it into this ---> SomeMod.esp Then move/copy it from your \backup folder into your \data folder. Maniac3020
I tried that. It's name is .esp, but it's still listed as a Bak file, and neither FOMM or Bethesda's data manager will recognize it.
TotallyNotToastyFresh
Make sure you have the thing enabled which lets you change the file extension when renaming.Try this
