ell46
Please don't let this start any fights we are all different and entitled to like and dislike things/people for what ever reason or we would be very boring. Here's my question is there any 1 character in your party you really really hate? You don't have to give a reason one liners are welcome.
Codifer
Oghren. Rude little SOB standing right at the foot of Leliana's bed roll. I think I missed the one and only dialogue option to ask him to leave and I can't figure out a way to kill him.
ell46
Agreed he is rude, I don't speak to him, sorry about Leliana's bed roll  but have to say she is the one I can't stand I don't even recruit her anymore, it's the voice and the way she speaks, that is the problem the same with Isolde. I'm sure a lot of people find it attractive but not me.
DarkeWolf
Wynn. In the process of my 3rd playthru and I'm so utterly sick and tired of her preachiness and the way she butts her nose in, that I've had my fill of her.But I'm using a party expansion mod, and this playthru I'm a mage, so there's hardly any time that I ever pull her out of her little cubby back there at the back of the camp. Alistair gets on my nerves too. Especially at the start, and end of the game. At the start he can be downright snotty. Every now and then I'll click on him and he'll gripe with "Do this, do that!" I just wanna grab him by the shirt and tell him "Watch it boy or I'll roundhouse kick you right upside your head!"And by the end of the game he's so emotionally co-dependant that I wanna throw him off a cliff just to get rid of him. Wynn is another one I won't speak to, even the Guardian couldn't put her in her place. Alistair I like. I got that 'do this, do that' comment and it just made me laugh, don't men say that sort of thing to women? Just last night DH said 'if I must' when I asked him to build me a new PC Sten I hated with a vengeance the first play through and vowed never to speak to him again, that seemed to do the trick and now we are great friends. DarkeWolf
The majority of females do like Alistair, yes. While many males only like having him along for comedy relief. The difference is the male/female mentality. There's nothing wrong with that. Its just our perceptions are different. For femmes its a case of "Oh he's so goofy, and sweet, and really funny." kind of thing. For males it's more of a "Stop being so dumb, and Man UP you weenie!!" kinda thing. Granted, yeah... I know that it can be done, thru some of the rougher dialogs with him, but I just can't be mean to him, even if he is just a game character.Another difference in perception is that while some do... the majority of us males dont see him as eye candy, as females do  That, and if you piss him off, his tone of voice instigates the fight instinct in us. The voice actor for him can take a very threatening tone, to his voice. Sten's ok, once you learn how to handle him and has some very interestingly funny dialogs. But having played femme characters with all my playthroughs, I'm completely sick and tired of hearing him complaining about how "women don't fight". And three times around, having him constantly judging my actions is getting old too. Ahhhh so you decided on what you were going to do, and decided to go with a computer upgrade, eh? Sounds cool, I hope that you're happy with the finished product

The character they try to portray him as also conflicts with some of the dialogue he has with female party members, or that could just be my interpretation. As for eye candy, they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so we are all different there  Deciding on the upgrade is one thing sourcing everything is another and could take ages, especially when you have a man who drools over the size of a HD  and then wants 2 of them. In fact I've got 3 at the moment this will then lead to heated discussions about, mirrored and stiped, me, I believe in the KISS principle 1 for playing and 1 for back up, plus my external back up just to be on the safe side. I got Acronis and cloned my HD to the external HD, but I've never had to use it I just hope it works if I ever have to.
Codifer
I have now six characters playing through at the same time. All of the PCs are elven ladies and five are Dalish rogues. The two most advanced (ie just before Landsmeet) have developed different personalities... light and dark. One, the "good" one, has a party of Lel, Morrigan and Wynne... two rogues-two mages. The other, the "bad" one, has Lel, Morrigan and, from the expanded party mod, Rikku. Rikku has turned out to be a scrappy Elven Templar and is far more enjoyable to be with than that SOB Oghren, wimpy-whiney Allistair or baby killer Sten. I don't really do tanks very well but she has strength and grit and does not gripe at all. I finally managed to create a pair of human noble ladies (Black Adder and White Adder) who DON'T look like Geena Davis (not that that is a bad thing) so it will be interesting to see how they develop. I figure they will also develop light/dark distinctions. Two things I will try to do on future playthroughs will be the elimination of Oghren (though he is a forced entry into my party) and I will never buy another noisy damn Nug for Leliana. Is there a way to feed a Nug to Dog? But seriously folks... how do I get Oghren to leave? Will his blessed leaving affect the end game in a bad way? Is there a way to feed a Nug to Dog? But seriously folks... how do I get Oghren to leave? Will his blessed leaving affect the end game in a bad way? I could be wrong here, because I always leave Oghren until last, but when I refused him as a party member the other Thaigs didn't show up on my map, so I had to say yes plus when he joins you have to select a party and he is there no getting rid of him at that point. I don't see any reason that would stop you from telling him to leave after you have done Orzammar. How the heck did you manage to buy a nug? I have tried every time I've been there as warrior, rogue or mage and I can't get that little twit in Dust town to sell me one.
Codifer
As I recall, I bought "Schmooples" from the Dust Town Twit but it did take two visits, one to request the Nug (he promises to look for one) and another to actually buy the horrid little mutant pig thing. I won't do that again. I mean my puppy has to stay at the edge of camp and that Nug gets pampered right by the fire. I would love to see a mod which allows Dog and Oghren to switch camp locations. That would solve much. The conversations with Oghren (the first one) leave a choice of asking him to leave or asking him about Branka. The leave option seems (so far) to occur only once. All others expand the fact that he likes the ale topside and does not want to ever go back to Orzammar.
