I don't even get a chance to ask about buying a nug every time I speak to him, he prattles on about falling into the sky, I've got to the point where "a mod" to give him a good kick up the backside to help him and his nugs on the way is very appealing.

 

You should look at the thread about an interactive camp, if we had one of those they wouldn't be super glued to one spot.

 

I don't talk to most of my characters voluntarily until the gifts start rolling in and they seem more amenable to chatting without getting disapproval, or it could be that I've played so often I know what and what not to say to avoid getting disapproval.

Ugh, the nug. I wonder how much approval we'd lose if we threw him on a spit and roasted him over the campfire?

 

Oghren. For some reason, I see him as a lost puppy. Maybe its because (and gawd, this sounds awfull!) of the way that he's always looking up at me. But I seem to think of him as the foul little leg-humping puppy that you just cant seem to get rid of. You know, the one that doesnt seem to want to learn potty training, tears everything up, and embarasses you in front of your friends.

 

I love that party recruiting mod. Ever since I got the character stage to actually WORK, I've been running several (modified) members from that mod. Like I said before, I hardly ever pull wynn out anymore. I've got Anora made into a mage replacement for her (yeah...to heck with lore), turned Cailen into a Ser Cauthrien clone that I use a LOT, instead of Sten or Al.

I love it. They dont talk back. They dont judge, they dont approve/disapprove... they're just good little soldiers, doing what you tell them to do.

To sum up companions of Origins:

 

*Oghren: The sleazy uncle that has a drinking problem and is rude and makes lame jokes.

*Alistair: The whiny little brother that people either love or hate

*Morrigan: The older sister that is a total bi**h to everyone, love by strangers hated by family

*Leliana: The other sister that is the total opposite of the older sister and is a nuisance

*Zevran: The perverted first cousin that you never see unless you have a family reunion

*Wynne: The grandmother that continues to pester you about your path in life

*Sten: The disappointed father that is a widow and hates everyone in the family, save the pet

*Shale: The great aunt that hates everything in life

*Dog: Family pet. Love by all, used by none.

*Loghain: The racist uncle that few like.

 

That sums up all the companions in Origins. I have nothing more to state about if they are annoying or not nor I will be telling who I hate the most. They are all unique in their own way and I will respect BW's creativity in such a great game.

I do a lot of graphic work making cutting files for use with electric cutting machines by crafters, so it's important I don't loose my files I've put far too many hours into them for that to happen, plus having been a gamer for sooo many years I would be fuming if I lost my saved games and then there is my :laugh: :laugh: basically I live on my PC

 

I've still got a load of those 3.5" floppies from when my husband built my second computer and I put all my fonts and files on those to copy over to the the new HD he even put a floppy drive into my last PC just in case I still wanted anything from them.

You guys suck! Oghren is one of the best charecters, ever! (lol)

But my vote is probably for Wynne. Sure, she's quite nice, makes a mother figure, but other times she's a pain. My first piece is when you enter the mages tower and if you aren't a mage, she's a biznatch to you, and the other is When you get romanticly involved with someone and talk to her, she goes on about how you should kick that person to the curb regardless of how your charecter and your partner(s) might feel. I tell her off each time. Other then her, I get mad at Sten...fricken smile already! (But that's the only reason I have "Grr" problems with him)

To get the nug you have to make sure you talk to Leliana in Orzammar and have her tell you that she thinks nugs are cute, otherwise you won't have the option in dust town to ask the guy to find you one for her. Also, for those that can't stand the noise from them, there's a mod that quiets them up.

 

To answer the question of the thread, Oghren is the one I could happily do without. Which I suppose is yet another reason I find Awakenings a bit of a kick to the guts. :)

Thanks, I'm not sure I actually spoke to her in Orzammar, but I remember her saying she didn't like nugs they were dirty, or something along those lines, I'll fish out an old save and try it again... honestly what a palaver just to buy a stupid nug. :wacko:

ahhhhh yes, I can see how losing parts designs would be very bad! LOL so is losing savegames! Gawd, I just went hunting thru some of my old cd's the other night and found savegames from a game that I havent played in YEARS.

What are we like. I only threw out my old floppy programes, games and saves about 2 years ago I had 2 boxes of them, it was hard but you have to move on. Some programs had about 8 discs I had forgotten having to keep swapping discs on command :laugh:

 

Not such good news on the new PC front, DH was sourcing graphic cards last night and it would seem that someone is forcing people to go down the Win7 route, something about new cards using DirectX 11 which is only supported by Win7 and at the moment I don't want Win7 as too many of my friends are having problems with their software since updating.

 

I'm still using XP as I didn't like the problems that Vista gave, call me an old cynic but I'm sure Win7 is just a renamed updated version of Vista. I suppose I could get a top notch GC that would work with XP, but that would be a stupid move if it didn't improve the graphics. Now I'm thinking 2 PCs one with Win7 for games and designing only and keep this one for everything else, haven't dare ask if I can hook up 2 PCs to one monitor yet :woot:
