DarkeWolf
Ok, I can tell you what you need to do, but not how to do it. Sorry about that. If you are wanting to change it's armor TYPE, such as say, massive to medium.... then what you will do is take a set of medium armor items, and manipulate them in the toolset to use a different mesh and texture file. Have seen this done with some mage robe mods, so that the robes actually provide an armor rating. If what you are wanting to do is to cut down the str requirements, then you would have to create a custom material file, and create a set of armor made from that material. and probably want to make it as tier 8 (unless you also have awakening, which should be tier 10 then) so that it doesnt conflict with any of the other materials being used. This is a lenghty process however, and involves at least a modicum of 3d artwork knowledge as it includes tints, and some of the other things that I dont understand. the first option would probably be best for you if you are a novice. the second, if you know more about what you're doing. Like I said, I'm sorry for not being able to tell you how to do that. But you could check around here- http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Tutorials to see if you can find something that can help you out. Good luck with your project
Azuell
Use DATool then open this model, choose retexture option and use original textures but renamed ( only diffuse _0d texture ), then choose save modded and tool will provide you with option to save new mmh file name. Then if you want it to be heavy armor just type your char gender ( hm , hf , df ,dm and so on ) like this : hf_arm_hvyz_0 ( example ) and you'll get new type armor using old mesh without any 3D program involved. When you get your new files place them all in override folder, add this new mmh file as material and create armor_variaton for it, then use toolset and that's all. DarkeWolf
datool- http://social.bioware.com/project/41/ HM Human maleHF human femaleEF elf femaleEM Elf maleMD Dwarf MaleFD Female DwarfQM Qunari Male note that an armor made for a human female, will NOT display on an Elf or Dwarf female. A model has to be made for each race AND gender that it would be used on. Or else you'll end up with nothing but a floating head, in game. Are qunari an exception to this? Dont they use the HM armors? Or would the QM armors have to be made also? add this new mmh file as material Azuell means the files that you made in the DaTool when he says mmh file. You'd also want to do a tools export when finished, wouldnt you? To move it from the toolset cache into the override folder? Good info, good post. Thanks Azuell!
Azuell
So far i did not look around so much in textures but Qunari models are all stand alone versions, while human male and dwarf male share one mao / textures.
DarkeWolf
I havent looked around for it in the toolset. About the only thing that I know for certain about Quns are the morph files, which are independant for them. I do know that DAtool doesnt have a listing for the Qun race tho.
