Eltocliousus
I'm all about immersion and losing myself in a scary and unforgiving apocalyptic world, similar to Metro 2033 or the stalker series. However, I already have a handful of mods ( Directional pip-boy light, Realistic lighting ) and a few others that keep me on my toes. But I can't seem to find a gas mask / muffled sound mod! What I mean by this is whenever you are using a helmet that covers your head, you get an effect that feels almost claustrophobic. It immerses you into the game, makes you feel like you're actually there. It's hard to describe but it essentially covers your hud inhalf blackness and leaves a hole/holes where you can see. Similar to the binoculars or scope. Here is a screenshot to explain, however it isn't very good and you can only see the cracking of the mask on the screen.http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/images/11474-1-1271652471.jpg Aswell as not being able to find this mod, I've also been looking for one that muffles sound when you are wearing afull size helmet, as if you have water/padding in your ears. If anyone knows of ANY mods like these, please give me a hand! I've found one called "HUD effects" however I wanted to know if their was more. Thanks for any replies, have a good evening. I've recently found: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11474it does what I want semi-decently, but I'm sure theirs a way to get better! Nadin
I don't know. It seems like it would be easy, but for some reason people shy away from this kind of thing.
Ltstrom
funny i am currently working on a mod like this, but i am having problems with the sfx of the breathing. the view will be distorted like looking through cracked glass and power helmets will have a robotic vision when equipped. the world will be toxic so a gas mask/power armor is needed to go outside the cities or you will suffocate. The image linked is using Helmet POV, which is the mod linked lower in the OP's post. I might just be misunderstanding what mod the OP is referencing that he/she is unable to find, though. Helmet POV has different overlays, respirator-like sound effects, and an effect that causes your chosen overlay to lag behind your POV movement a little, simulating a bulky helmet. It's all configurable.
Nadin
It's fairly buggy, though. The menu item only half-works, so you have to preset with leveled list scripts in the GECK.

I've never had any problems with it, though I don't use the mod's night vision functions since I get night vision from FWE. The selection of overlays is quite limited at the moment, but I've certainly never had to mess around with it in the GECK at all, even when using it with headgear added by other mods.
