Molliejay
Some while ago I had problemswith ctd and with reinstalling oblivion. Fingers crossed, this appears to have mostly worked. However my main reason for the reinstall was various crashes during specific quests. I have one, persistent crash that occurs during peryites quest. As soon as I receive the quest and am transported to the oblivion plane I get a ctd. This can happen straight away or after a few seconds(enough time to see that I've reached oblivion but not enogh time for anything to happen). One of the most frequent pieces of advice with problems is to regenerate the oblivion INI file. I did this but immediately noticed that the font wasn't rendering properly (I use the darnified ui). OK, I thought, just needs the screen resolution adjusting. No, changing the resolution crashed oblivion immediately on reload. I reverted to my saved oblivion .INI and all was OK again. This behaviour made me begin to suspect the graphics, in particular, I'd used OBGE but I had some doubts that I'd installed it correctly. Reading various posts I have reason to belive that my peryite crash is graphics related....possibly missing meshes or textures of the correct resolution. Could anyone help by pointing me to a tool that can diagnose missing graphics resources or even a tool that can give me a pointer to the reason for the crash in the first place.Since the deadric quests are in the vanilla edition I don't think that my mod list will be of any use, however I will post it if anyone thinks that it will help.My graphics card is a geforce 760 and I am running W7 pro on an I5 machine with 8gig ram.
