Wolfhorn Ranch expanded?

Hi. I just started a new playthrough and happened to stumble upon the wolfhorn ranch on my way to novac, and found the wolfhorn ranch.

This ranch, except from the lore improtance (it was ulysses' ranch) is a very appealing compound.

first of all, it is located at a very good place - close to novac, primm, etc.

It is also a very eye-catching and interesting compound, having a farm, a (kinda) walled off yard, a lookout post, main building etc..

 

The perfect place for any player that is in the first half of the game (not yet in new vegas), wishes for a secluded house, or just not happy with the lucky 38?

Wrong. ever since ulysses left, no one treated the ranch, and now and is hardly useful for anything than occasionly farming tobbaco or maize..

 

Now, most of you probably alreadly understood what im talking about - a mod that aims to restore and make the ranch an actual player home.

In the last year or so mods have started popping up of beautiful new or revised player homes, some with even their own quest, and i do believe that the wolfhorn ranch could benefit from one of its own.

some examples for what changes i am talking about: A new upgrade to the farmhouse, that is basically one room with some containers and a bed.

an upgrade to the farm outside so its not just a bunch of plants standing there.

an upgrade to the lookout post on the hill, maybe another one by the road, and possibly mercenaries (to guard from enemies such as raiders or legion assassins that might spawn)

the ranch was a bighorner farm, so maybe a possiblity to add farm animals, maybe guard dogs and such, brahmin etc... and interactions with them.

the ability to fix the water pump and get a water source thats not irradiated.

 

and lots of other interactions.

 

Now, obivously, i have no modding skills or the time to invest in actively taking on a project that includes learning how to mod and doing such a thing.

Because of this, i decided to post this idea here.

 

a few things now: First of all, i know i might sound like a spoiled brat. I know that other people might be busy, and i don't demand this to be done, but request it, hoping that you would do it because you are a nice person and/or think that this is a swell idea.

I also can't offer you anything, should you think i am requesting this to be a paid commision from an expert modder, then no, i simply would really love this to be done, and the most i can offer is endorsments and trying to make the mod known.

 

also, i do know that a few mods have already done a few things with the wolfhorn ranch, however, all of them are either a WIP that were dropped off and never continued and brought the changes i am talking about, or just not what i am looking for.

 

Again, i do not expect this to be done for a price or something, or demanding it to be done, i just played and thought about an idea that would really boost up my FNV experience and be really interesting and fun. Take full freedom with my suggestions and idea. But someone is doing it, just don't forget to tell me :smile:
