Compatibility Tool

So today I was downloading some mods for F:NV and I was looking around the desc of them seeing if they were compatible and a idea poped into my head, why doesn't NMM have a compatibility tool that lets you scan a mod and see what mods it is compatible with (Obviously they would have to be uploaded by the author). I don't know maybe it is a dumb idea, But I thought it would save people alot of time from searching around nexus trying to find out what mods are compatible with each other, again I don't know give me some feedback on the idea.

We get this suggestion from time to time. When you find a tool that can scan nearly 35,000 mods and somehow determine which mods are and are not compatible with every other mod, please let us know. The big problem is the number of possible ways they can be incompatible.

 

And as for the author being required to do it By the time they test their mod against every other mod - the game will be obsolete and no one will be playing. Most authors do post known incompatible mods in their read me - but new files are uploaded every day - and they cannot be expected to recheck over and over just on the off chance one of the new ones may be incompatible.

 

I recommend using LOOT and FNVedit on your load order - FNVedit is not capable of scanning all nearly 14,000 FONV files at one time - they just wouldn't fit in your memory. And even if they would, it would tie up your computer for several days to scan. It takes quite a while to scan just the hundred or so many people use without choking. And it still doesn't catch all compatibilities.
