My Modded Races Arent Showing Up On The Create You Character Menu

The main reason mods don't show up is because your game isn't patched to the latest version, which is 1.2.0.416. If you have Shivering Isles make sure to only use the patch for SI. Do not use the Oblivion only one as well.

This is assuming you don't have the D2D, Steam or Game of the Year versions which I believe are already patched. Might be wrong about that, but I'm still using the original Oblivion DVD I bought on the day the game was released and of course Shivering Isles.

 

Mods made with the 1.2 version of the Construction Set will not show up if your game is not the same version and can, depending on the mod cause crashes. They will usually show up in the Data files selection or in OBMM, but not in the game.

 

If you're sure you installed the races as directed by the readme they should be available at the Character selection screen as long as the game is patched and no other mod is interfering. I know of a few that alter the vanilla races and make it impossible to select or even see the custom races. This is usually because these mods have changed something they shouldn't have and not because of the custom race you want to use.

 

However, if you're using Vista or Windows7 there may be related issues there as well. I use Windows XP, so the only thing I can advise related to other Operating Systems is to not install the game in the default directory. Install to C:\Oblivion for example. You can find advice for Vista etc by searching the forum.

 

Are you using other mods, particularly cosmetic mods that add eyes and hair or make changes to any of the vanilla races?
