edfo
I have obmm and every mod I download and install with obmm, screws up. Whenever I go into oblivion, in the data files thing, it says in brackets next to the mods (invalid file.) when I try to check the box next to the mods it says this is not an official plugin or something. I have reinstalled obmm and it still doesn't work. I have seen a few people ask this question, but everyone overlooks the problem and just ignores them. please help. I have googled this problem but it only comes up with like unanswered questions on forums. Please answer soon. I need help.  Check the image <<<<<<<<<<<all the unchecked ones are mods that are (invalid file)
Maigrets
Possibly the reason why the questions aren't answered is because no-one knows the answer or because the poster doesn't give enough information. Which Operating System do you have? If it's Vista or Windows 7 there are issues with Oblivion utilities that you can find the answer to by searching the forum. I use Windows XP so I'm no help there. Assuming you installed the mod correctly with OBMM it sounds like an Operating System problem. Have you installed the game in the default location it wants you to install to or in a root directory...eg C:\Oblivion, not in Program files. That's often the cause with Vista and Windows 7, but someone using those systems would be able to help further with that. Or search the forum for related problems. bben46
1. The picture you show is NOT OBMM. it is the game data list. OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager)is a separate utility program - not included with Oblivion that runs before you start the game. 2. The most common source of the error you are seeing is NOT unzipping the mod before placing it in the data folder. Oblivion does not recognize zipped files (.7z. rar, zip) 3. Oblivion also does not recognize OBMM OMOD files ( .omod) These are used ONLY by OBMM to install the actual files into the game. 4. I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them. http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibrary/forum/256092/ Note: This help filed does not include using OBMM. It is for installing files without using OBMM. 90% of available mods are NOT OBMM files ONLY those that end with .omod are. Please learn to install without OBMM first, then, after you know how to install mods, and if you want to - then learn to use OBMM If you use them I would appreciate some feedback as to what needs improvement and what works for you.
