delhospital
So today I found a mod that adds more farming animals to the villages and I started wondering: how are these small farms here and there able to support the whole gigantic province of Skyrim?! In medival times it would be very hard to import food from Cyrodil or other provinces, becouse it would simply rot on the way. And most of these farms are so small, that in real world thy wouldn't even be able to supply for themselves. Especially when they aren't using any plows or anything. Has anyone ever seen a plow in Skyrim? In a place like Skyrim, only two possibilities exist for supplying the country: either covering 80% of the land in fields or pasture hundreds upon hundreds of cold-climate animals, like goats or yaks. So maybe someone could make a mod, that does something like that? Every farm should cover a lot more ground, with southern ones focusing on crops, and the northern ones on animals. The entire plains around the city of Whiterun should be covered in fields, with workers tending to the crops from dawn till dusk - or maybe with cows wandering around, with some shepherds, shepherd dogs and maybe some mounted cowboys. Now that would be awesome. Now that would be an awesome sight. Edited August 7, 2014 by delhospital
Valkasha
Everything is smaller in scale in Skyrim. Heck vanilla Skyrim has like fifteen citizens per city when they're supposed to have well over a hundred.
