Frustrating replacer problems =_=

The body replacers I have are:

HGEC body (for females)

Oblivion Character Overhaul (For faces/heads, stops the Khajiit looking like camels and more like actual felines)

Male Body Replacer V4

Beautiful People V22 Male Body V4 (Both came along Roberts body download).

 

The problem I'm having is with the Character Overhaul to make the faces better and both Roberts Male Body replacers.

After activating the male replacer once all male bodies can't go without anymore otherwise I get a screwed up texture that looks like somebody flattend a female and plastered it over the guy.

But activating either the Beautiful People or Male Body mod makes the textures line up fine, but now I have camel face Khajiit.

I tried all sorts of load orders with those three but with only two results:

 

1.

OCO

MBRV4

(good textures, camel Khajiit).

 

2.

MBRV4

OCO

(Male Body Replacer textures ignored making a mess from the males, but Khajiit head fine).

 

3.

OCO

BPV22

(same as 1.)

 

4.

BPV22

OCO

(same ass 2.)

 

5.

OCO

MBRV4

BPV22

(same as 1.)

 

6.

MBRV4

OCO

BPV22

(same as 1.)

 

etc etc etc etc

 

How do I solve this???

For one, are you even using Beautiful People V22 to begin with? You're using the compatibility patch from Robert's Male for it, so you should be. Else you shouldn't even be having this "Beautiful People V22 Male Body V4" plugin inside your load order anymore. It is only ever going to mess things up for you, especially when you use it at the same time as the "Male Body Replacer V4" plugin. They're mutually exclusive and incompatible by design. Use only one.

 

That said, you talking of Khajiiti textures being camel-like from the start and with only OCO it's not like that, but Robert's Male body didn't change this design, so if OCO did but doesn't provide a Robert's Male compatibility texture still looking the same, then you're out of luck and it's all working as intended in fact. OCO was made for Vanilla bodies initially, then came body mod support. I'm not sure how far this body mod support went though in regards to different skin texture designs.

 

One thing I'm wondering though. Wasn't there a plugin for race settings coming with OCO as well which is for use with Robert's Male and HGEC?

I remember following the install instructions to the letter, and in my game the body mods' plugins are removed from my load order so they won't mess up.

No, sry, that post was posted before I was done writing it. I meant you seem to be switching around the two plugins "from Robert's Male", while the "BPV22" plugin coming with it "requires" you to have Beautiful People V22, not just the plugin, the mod. It is only a compatibility plugin to be used "instead of" the RMBV4 plugin.

 

Technically they both do the same, in regards to Robert's race settings, but the BPV22 plugin 'also' includes settings from Beautiful People V22, capable of messing up your races and cosmetics when used without Beautiful People V22, and known to cause missing/black eyes when used with RMBV4 at the same time. Using one or the other won't affect Robert's settings the slightest, but using the wrong one will cause 'additional' issues.

 

And my post grew about 3 times while you were replying, so don't miss the other points I added after it accidentally was posted prematurely.

I meant camel-like with shape, not textures (Vanilla Khajiit).

Head textures are fine, its just when roberts body is active the head shape reverts back to the camel-like vanilla head.

Roberts body not active and the head shape is as provided by OCO, but the male body textures are totally screwed up.

 

OCO was made for Vanilla bodies initially, then came body mod support. I'm not sure how far this body mod support went though in regards to different skin texture designs.

Ah, yes, if OCO doesn't win the load order battle, its heads won't be used, and Robert's plugin will re-introduce the Vanilla heads into the race settings.

If OCO wins the battle, Robert's Khajiit changes won't prevail and it's back to Vanilla race settings, both genders using the same body textures (male texture assigned for both genders' feet, which is now used for full-body in body mods).

Exnem/HGEC/EVE replaced both genders' body textures with its female one, if I recall correctly, and Robert chose to use a new texture "RTfootmale" instead, which will not be used without RMBV4's changes winning.

 

I could've sworn there was something coming with OCO which made those body mods' plugins redundant... I'll have to re-check my installation again, but I know for a fact my body mods' plugins are gone.

Looking between the OCO downloadable files I saw there are compatability textures for HGEC and Roberts bodies.

So, I decided to start from complete scratch (as far as replacers go).

I removed everything remotely having to do with replacing anything (wich isn't much, not too fond of replacers).

Following the exact instructions on the OCO download page I install all replacers before OCO, wich include:

(In instalation order)

Roberts male body (this time v5)

Exems HGEC with BBB (sans animations)

NoMaaM BBB animation replacer

That done, I installed OCO, then the HGEC and Robert compatabilty body textures, fixed the load order (OCO always after any replacers as per instruction) and launched the game.

 

The results were exactly the same; Male Khajiit body texture screwed up.

Dafuq?

Googling got me nothing.

I decided to peek at the archive containing Roberts compatability textures for OCO, and found out there are textures for every blasted race except the bloody Khajiit!!!

Great...

Now what?

 

(EDIT: There is in fact a very simple good looking mod that is specifically made for OCO male Khajiit, but it isn't in an .esp format (just a simple .kif and .dds replacer) so if I have roberts body active it ignores the replacements and makes a mess like some bad behaved little sister!).

(EDIT EDIT: I sort of solved the problem by downloading Alienslof's Khajiit retextures. The Male textures aren't a mess anymore, but now the textures of the body doesn't fit too well with the texture of the head >.< )
