thanateros
man, the DDK is so much fun one handed, ok now for the on topic stuff. yes a lot of PC mages will use armors under their robes, but if you're a mage how could you not wear a robe? Making the Magnus one handed is kinda cool, especially since i don't really use it to attack stuff, just for the image, ya know? If you're a mage i would highly suggest wearing some sort of armor, for some reason i really like the orcish armor with a really basic brown robe and the mask of Clavicus Vile, it's uberific
loveme4whoiam
Looking at the forum it seems im a really black sheep. I use a Runed Daedric Longsword from the Dual Wield mod and wear the assassins Light Armour from the Bloodmoon pack (until i can nick the Glass armour from that troll woman). When i restarted my game i put Blunt as a Major skill but i couldnt find anything that looked good or did any damage at all. But since im in the Fighters Guild and the Mages guild Long Blade helps - plus those swords look the coolest by miles...

The_Reaper
My dumb brother wears daedric armor underneath his magic robe.....
FlyingFox
Longblade skill is a good one for mages as well... great attacks and they also have the best enchantments, for upping that echantment skill. My PC's kind of a poser-mager (lol), so he wears a nice enchanted robe on the outside, heavy armor on the inside (Lords Mail, Nordic Chain Mail, Mask of Clavicus Vile), and a nice Stalhrim Longsword of Flame for a weapon. Rynos
If you download Cult of the Clouds after some very long and hard quests you get to get stuff for 1/5 different staff upgrades or new ones.
loveme4whoiam
when i created my new character i put Blunt Weapon as a major skill for me so i could be a conformist-mage. But i got really frustrated with the lack of decent staves you can get early on in the game. So i re-started the game (i have no staying power) without it. Are there any decent ones later on (not in mods), apart from Staff of Magnus?
Psycho Hedgehog
My mage uses an axe, mostly cause I like axes :) and I also wear light armor under my robe, nicely stolen from the guys who try to kill me in my sleep (also sometimes called the Dark Brotherhood). Well, she's really not a mage by class, but a custom class who has mostly magic as major and minor skills, but you understand what I mean. And axe as a major skill.
