demontom
Due to restrictions (family computer) I can't move files to the Program Files folder in which Oblivion is located. I could ask for the password, but that would require input for every file being transferred. To avoid that hassle, I copied the files to my desktop, and I can open Oblivion from there. The desktop copy reads the mesh files from the desktop's set of folders, so I can install replacements for stock changes. Unfortunately, the OblivionLauncher still checks for mods in the Program Files folder. Is there any way to change the launcher's location to load esm files from the desktop folder? Update: Don't know if you can change the directory it reads from, but by placing OBMM in the folder on the desktop, it reads from where I want it to. bben46
Unfortunately, you are stuck with the windows registry telling where to look for the files. Oblivion can only look where the registry tells it to. And the only way to change that is to reinstall in the location you want it to look. That is why you cannot have a portable version of Oblivion (USB)
