caboose101
I have gotten this to work from my CD installed version of Oblivion, but recently I decided to also get the Steam version and start playing from there. Now, using the steam version of Oblivion, the HGEC meshes won't change anything for me. When I played on my CD installed version, all I had to do was swap out different .nif files in the meshes\characters\_male directory, and it worked fine. But when I do the same thing with steam, it doesn't swap any models, my characters body stays at the default no matter what I do. So my question is, am I forgetting to do something else? What else might I need to install? Thanks. *edit* I'm assuming the Steam version has compatibility issues with mods. If that's so, is there a way around it? dayX
Hey, dunno if its still relevant but I had the same problem at first. The STEAM-version uses *.bsa files in which the textures, sounds, meshes etc are stored - so simply copying mod files in the "data"- folder won't work. A way around is the "ArchiveInvalidation.txt" or some other methods to tell Oblivion where to look for certain files. I found a nice tutorial which explains it all: Link. I used the Oblivion Mod Manager to successfully apply some mods to Oblivion. Hope that helped :)
