Qc Storm
So I recently regained interested in Oblivion. I've had the itch to play again for a while, but the level system kept me from popping the CD in. But then, I remembered. I once had one that skill micromanagement obsolete, and I absolutely loved it. I went ahead and bought a few DLC, then while browsing for advice on how to install them, I came across a lot of mods that seemed extremely interesting. Mainly, OOO, MMM, and Francesco's thing. ( Plus, many many other mods, more about my foolishness later .) I then proceeded to install them with the dexterity of a blind, quadrigplegic monkey, dumping mods after mods in my Data Folder, while reading counltess Readme. The more I read, the more I realized I was dooming myself. But hey, might as well see the end of it. Many of them mentionned Wrye Bash, and I remember using it a long time ago. But other than the loading order, I really don't understand it. Many Readme metion Bashing mods together, or something, but FAQs and tutorials about Wrye really only made me more confused about it. I would appreciate some help with this. As for the rest, It seems MMM, OOO and Francesco's cannot be run together, but I've heard otherwise, although it looks fairly difficult. It is probably tied to this magical bashing thing my old brain can't get a hold of. If you guys could give me a few tips, I'd appreciate it. I've included a picture of my Load Order, though it probably won't help much, since I'll be reinstalling Oblivion right now, and start out fresh. I simply want to learn from my mistakes. ( I tried to go through the tutorial with these mods enabled. I saw a few missing textures, and noticed some mods didn't work. Enemies somehow turned green when dead, and the game crashed when I left the sewers. It's no miracle though, considering how much meshes and textures II've probably replaced in my foolish modding spree ) http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7776/ggggp.pngThis is the interesting part of my Load Order, there is a lot more, but most of them are disabled. If you kind gentlemen are willing to help me, I'd like to start out slow, with the most important mods first, then try to keep going on my own with less important ones. (I'm not sure if I should be saying this, But I used a bit of OBMM and Wrye Bash ( Though nothing complex ) OBSE is installed I believe. If you guys need to know anything else, let me know, I'll be monitoring this topic. ) TL;DR I need help with wrye bash, then some assistance to run three overhauls together. bben46
First check FCOM Convergence. A mod specifically made to run Francesco + WarCry + Oscuro + Martigen and more together. It requires Wrye Bash and there are several good tutorials on installing it properly.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12249

I now have a clean installation of Oblivion, with the most recent patch, as well as the unnoficial one. I have installed OBMM, Wrye Bash, OBSE. I also believe I have all the mods required for FCOM. ( OOO, MMM, Francesco's, Bob's Armory, Warcry and Loth Blunt Weapons.) Now, could anyone be so kind as to guide me through this dreaded bash process? Or direct me to some easy tutorial for this old man here. Examples would help greatly. I hope I'm not too much trouble.
Maigrets
An FCOM installation isn't for the "faint of heart" as they say at top of the Official forums thread, unless you read the docs extensively and make sure to understand them. This is the mistake most people with issues make...not reading the instructions. :whistling: Not meaning you specifically, but it's a common theme, with this and most mods. FCOM can even be daunting for experienced mod users and will certainly give you a headache before it's all done and working...Prepare to spend an afternoon and evening or longer getting it set up correctly, but when you do, it is so satisfying and makes the game seem like new. I would personally never go back to an non FCOM install. For the most up to date info and detailed instructions and links go here to the Bethesda Official Forum FCOM Topic. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1089902-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-relz/ It will link you to the latest files and updates, explain load orders, and via links explain the Bashed Patch procedure. (much better than I could explain it here.) It's not that hard really, but explaining it can be confusing. This is a link to TheNiceOne's OMOD installers which make it much easier to get everything in place correctly.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24647 This is another link to the FCOM Cheat Sheet, or Quick Start Guide, but some of the info is outdated. It does have valuable info though, but make sure to read the Official forum link from top to bottom. A lot. http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html By the way OBSE isn't required for any of the FCOM files so you only need it if you have mods that do require it.It's not an essential unless your mods need it to run and they will hopefully say that in their readme's. Always use the OBSE.exe loader to run the game in that case. Many OBSE mods will still work, but you won't have the extended script functions. P.S. I notice you mentioned the green dead enemy issue in your first post. This is fixed by renaming the Martigen's Monster Mods bsa as detailed in the FCOM forum thread. Thanks for that, and thanks for answering 2 of my upcoming question. I am slowly trying to build up the balls to start working on it, but during my readings, I stumbled upon a potentially helpful Wrye Bash tutorial, except it 404'd. See for yourself. Apart from that, I have not seen a Bashing tutorial I could use. I guess I'll just try installing the base mods for now.
Maigrets
Yes, that dead link is Wrye's own page, but has been out of action for some time. The actual program has everything in it's help files that's on that page anyway. In HTML format. At the bottom of this page I linked previously is a basic outline of what to do for the Bashed Patch. It's really all you need to make FCOM work.http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html Bashed Patch Note: For a more detailed walkthrough, please visit the FCOM site and read the Bashed Patch section. (See below this quote) New Game * Make sure you have Bashed Patch, 0.esp in your \Oblivion\Data\ folder. If you don't have it, go to \Oblivion\Mopy\Extras\ and copy Bashed Patch, 0.esp to your \Oblivion\Data\ folder. * Start Wrye Bash and select your entire mod list (click on the first mod to select it and then scroll all the way down to your last mod and press+hold Shift and then select it). * Right-click anywhere on the selected mods and select Mark Levelers. * Find Bashed Patch, 0.esp (which is almost always at the very end of your load order unless you're using Deadly Reflex) and right-click on it. * Select Rebuild Patch. * Select (and check) Merge Patches and make sure all the FCOM Mergeable Mods are also checked. * Make sure Leveled Lists is checked and the checkbox next to Automatic is also checked. Do NOT change/move anything in the Override Delev/Relev Tags window unless you know what you're doing! * Enable/change any other options that you want. If you don't know what a particular option does, go to the Wrye Bash site or simply hover your mouse over an option and look at the small section at the bottom to get a short description. * If you're happy with the changes and have double-checked everything, click OK to build your Bashed Patch. * Review the changes that were made and start a new game. Saved Game * Load a previously saved game and then type coc TestingHall in the console (press the ~ key). * Sleep/wait for your cell respawn time to pass (default is 3 days) and then sleep/wait for another extra day (just to be sure). * Save your game and then exit. * Make sure you have Bashed Patch, 0.esp in your \Oblivion\Data\ folder. Or, if you prefer another location, use any of the location ID names listed in this page). Plus this page has a more in depth description...towards the bottom under Bashed Patch. Although I don't know the mods enough to tell if everything was implemented ( Such as Bob Armory), I tried the 300TestCell, and saw a lot of new items and monsters. Including a 3 feet tall troll. When I bashed ( It's a lot easier than it seemed too, thanks to the autotagging) I only checked "Levelled list", because its what the guide told me to do. Once I start installing other mods, should I be checking more stuff as well? Either way, I'll make several backups of my data files, and keep going with lesser mods. I'll make sure to come back here if I run into any trouble. Thanks again.
Tomlong54210
Rebuild FCOM Bashed Patch <-- FCOM Convegence is slightly outdated. Wrye Bash has had a lot of improvements since then, and you probably want to check more than the leveled lists section
