Who do you like to side with?

Lehcar

Recommended Posts

Oh darn I totally forgot about this one in my original post!..

During the Nature of the Beast quest, do you side with the Mad Hermit or the Grand Oak? Personally I always side with the Grand Oak and kill that annoying babbling hermit. Just cause I like the Oak a lot better, he's nicer and a heck of a lot more charming and intelligent. That hermit is just ugh impossible to talk to and a jerk. Lol :teehee:

The Grand Oak amuses me, the hermit has to die.

I must agree, it's like talking to Dr. Seuss. I find the hermit to be a more satisfying kill due to the more difficult battle as well so it's a win-win situation.

Anyone besides me guzzle down Avernus' research vial regularly? A bit of a moral quandary there, is it blood magic if you aren't a blood mage?

I do. I find a way to justify it to myself that if I don't then all those sacrifices would simply have meant nothing.

  • 2 weeks later...

On my lastest play through I was Male Human Noble -

Redcliff - Saved the village, gave the sword back, Did the Blood Sacrifice to enter fade , ie Saved Conner, let Isode die. (Normally I save all,)

Tower - Cleansed it, was somewhat satisfying sticking the Sword to gut and removing Wynn's head after she said she'd strike me down. (Normally side with mages)

Elf - Killed werewolfs and witherfang. (Normally I break curse)

Dwarf - Kept Branka, Kept anvil, King Bhelen. (Most time i go Harrowmont (cause i like doing provings), Side with Caradin) I have once defeated Caradin and then talked Branka into destroying the Anvil.

Ashes - Destroyed after getting my pinch.

Landsmeet - Didn't harden Alistair, Let Alistair behead Logain, Became Prince-consort to Anora and Alistair gave his oath as he didnt want to be king any way.

Morrigan - Took the bedding since was in "Love" anyway.

Ending - Highever restored to worthless brother, married the Queen.

Ending Notes - was varied from alot of my other play throughs, Kinda interesting.

Have played a little bit in Awakenings with this character and Queen Anora does show up and acknowledges I'm her husband in the sceen just after saving The keep in the beginning.

I always quaff! Interestingly, I haven't ever had any NPC give me grief about it, *or* about becoming a Blood Mage. (As ostracized and feared as BMs are reported to be, no ones seems to care...) Disappointingly, "Power of Blood" is an unrecognized Class in DA:A. The chain appears with "Unknown Class Name" in place of the title. Puzzlingly, even in DA:O I have never been able to obtain more that the first two abilities in the (seemingly) four-block chain.

Ah so interesting to see how everyone is playing!!!

I think I have done just about everything for every outcome to all situations. Even with the oak vs hermit thing, it just depends on what character I'm playing and I try to play a variety so I can try all the different outcomes. The only two things I always do, no matter what character, is kill Flemeth, the High Dragon & the guy who guards 'Andraste'. Even with my evil girl after pouring blood on the ashes and drinking the blood K offered I still turned around and killed him :X Frankly I just hate to miss out on any opportunity to fight someone!

Even in the Fade with the Mage Origin story I turn around and kill the templar who gave me the staff b/c I get extra XP for it! Though the 2 things I only do with conniving or evil characters is demand payment for helping the dog at Ostagar and tricking that little elf into giving me the sword while there. I just love how in Ostagar you really get a chance to play your characters personality and morality by how you interact with the people there and that prisoner. :D

I've accidentally triggered the fight with the Guardian several times because I forgot to check the altar thingy and strip naked before walking through the magical flames. Oops.

I feel that fighting the Guardian is really pointless because it gains you less experience then just getting naked and walking through the flames as you're supposed to (haha), and because you cannot loot his body for any goodies. Which is kind of a shame, I was really hoping to get my dirty mitts on that nice weapon he's got on his back!

But it kind of makes the Guardian seem like a big jerk... he acts so calm and benevolent at the front door of the gauntlet, and then he suddenly turns hostile on The Warden for a simple mistake? Good grief!

Ohhh Lehcar I have never done that! I don't think it ever crossed my mind not to touch the alter ... now I want to do that! LOL! The only time I fought him was with my evil girl who poured the blood onto the ashes and had to fight him off ... which was way too easy! I had Alistair with me (who disapproved but is always loyal like a puppy dog!), Sten & Morrigan so none of them turned on me. Though Wynne declared she hoped the darkspawn would take me before storming off once I got back to camp :X And running into her in Awakening when she still hated me was pretty funny!!!

But I am like Lehcar for sure, I love getting my dirty mitts on everything I can! *wiggles off*

He's not being a jerk, he's just doing his job. He told you calmly and benevolently that you must prove yourselves worthy and by ignoring the altar you disrespected Andraste and for that you must pay the penalty. It's not a simple mistake, it's a potentially life ending one.

With that said, I want his helmet.
