Second chance for most requests

I'm posting this thread because my mod is still in a stage where a bunch of things can be put in, and it would be good to get ideas from someone other than myself. So, if you have any requests that have not yet been done,post them here. I will do my best to put them in, by the criteria is as follows:

Nothing that requires new models or textures, as I have yet to get a new modeler.

Nothing that has already been done.

NO PORN.

 

And probably more to follow.

 

But anything else I can try to include.

Here's an idea: rather than having all enemies drop lootable armor/weapons, you get some caps (or some sort of light weight valuable) and perhaps ammo/chems from the corpse. Exceptions for bosses ofc. Like FO1/FO2. I love large shootouts but the looting system is so tedious, gathering up weapons/armor, repairing them etc. You end up going home to stash all your stuff more often than exploring. Also, being able to loot all armor/weapons is part of the reason why it's so easy to get caps in FO3. Removing that aspect would make it harder for the player to get good weapons all at 100% cond and also limit the flow of caps more easily (you can't make an item too cheap or it's too easy to buy early on, but the more you raise the more the player can sell it for. Removing the sell side of the equation vastly simplifies balance). Of course, there would still be armories, gun racks, etc for the player to loot weapons from when clearing out raider bases or enclave outposts. Something along those lines, anyway, you don't have to be too drastic.

 

Also, could you remove the SPECIAL cap? That is, your base stat can still only be 10 ( the limit of human ability) but can be boosted by drugs/items above that limit. Of course, don't actually give players more SPECIAL points, this just encourages larger diferences between stats. IMO this would be better because there is a greater variety of viable character builds. You don't have to think about "wasting" points in str if you're going to use power armor, for example, or luck and ranger's combat armor etc. Plus it'd make chems more useful.

 

I came up with a lot of perk ideas in the past, but I went more for unique and creative than practical and they'd probably be very difficult to implement. However, if you want a few ideas, I'd be happy to post them. Even using part of one idea would be pretty cool for me.

It's a good idea on the loot tables, but that would be a bit drastic a change for most people. Corpses will, generally, have more caps, and depending on the type may not have armor or weapons. For example, a new type of enclave soldier-an assassin sent to hunt you down-- has non-removable armor and weapons. However, while in raven rock, you have a chance to pick it up from behind a stasis field.

 

No go on the SPECIAL cap. It seems to be hard-coded. I will, however, try to make an option to have the SPECIAL stats randomly generated, removing the power armor dilemma, upon other things.

 

And please, post ALL your ideas, even the far-fetched ones. You never know, after all.

Tool and Med kits. I was going to make a request here soon about this, but perhaps you would like it. I figure something that acts like the Food Sanitizer. You have two more items in your misc section. The first is a tool kit. The premise is that it holds a variety of small, precisions tools. These have been carefully collected from the wasteland. The kit would add a bonus to lockpick and repair skills. The med kit would be a bit more involved. There are medical tools all over the wastes. Yet they offer no bonus or usefulness. Perhaps a kit like the tool kit, but the bonus can be increased by adding more items. Collect some tweezers, you get a better bonus.

 

I thought of it this way since the med tools are already in the game. You mentioned you do not have a modeler, so making things like precision screw drivers and such is out.
