Miq
Hello, while in water my character, or any npcs, will not have any ripples around them, despite the fact that i have the option enabled. Also, when the camera is above water, the part of the player characters body that is underwater dissapears, and when camera is above water the part above water dissapears. This does not happen with npcs.I have googled to find a solution to this issue and i haven't had any luck. I'd appreciate if someone told me which ini setting controlls the water ripples, so i could check them out. edit: Seems like the ripples work in lake Rumare only, like for this guy in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spy6H6EYhH4 But the invisibility issue is still there, even in lake Rumare. And i do not get ripples back when i disable the Unique Landscapes compilation. edit: For more details on the invisibility issue, i have made a screenshot. Miq
The transparency issue is fixed by disabling the oglivion graphics extender addon, but the ripples still do not work anywhere outside Lake Rumare. And i have disabled every known addon i have right now. I also had Oblivion create a new .ini. Also bump.
Tomlong54210
Did you completely uninstall OBGE, not just the plugin?
Miq
Did you completely uninstall OBGE, not just the plugin? I removed the DLL file, i thought it was enough.
Tomlong54210
Oh, that's interesting. What other mods are you using? Did you remove the ESP as well? Edit: Posting your load order <-- if you do not use utilities, use the method at the bottom What non-ESP mods are you using? Make sure you uninstall any extra shaders you used with OBGE as well. Miq
Oh, that's interesting. What other mods are you using? Did you remove the ESP as well? I removed the ESP as well, and now i have removed all other files in the data folder that came with oblivion graphics extender. No results. As for other mods, only one i have enabled right now is DarknifiedUI because oblivion crashes if i launch without it. I had more but they are all disabled currently. I remember reading on a page of a mod that it will disable ripples forever or something, but i never got that mod. I found that mod when googling for a solution. Tomlong54210
See my last post. (I edited it.) Also, try regenerating the Oblivion.ini. (After doing that, you need to either disable DarkUIdDarN or redo the font changes in the INI...so that your game does not hang.) Does the change persist if you uninstall all of your mods? Are you using OBMM? BSA Redirection (Utilities > Archive invalidation)? Edit: I forgot you are only dealing with the ripples issue and not the invisibility issue. Keep in mind that water added by certain mods may not have the ripple effect. Anyway, any water-related settings in the INI are under the "[Water]" section (I think) and they are well labeled, so you should not have to guess if there is such a setting. I am using OMM, and i have no load order to post, because i have disabled all mods i had, all my mods were made into OMOD s by me.I also managed to disable DarknifiedUi and regenerated the ini, again.I have tried fumbling with various water settings back when i got the problem and first posted this topic weeks ago. I had no luck. Also i would like to again bring to attention the curious fact that ripples do work, but only in lake Rumare edit:Upon further investigation, the ripples also work in Bravil, but not in that pond in anvil, and not in that river that passes through EDIT: Cheydinhal, while inside Cheydinhal. another edit: Well anyways it turned out that Oblivion Graphics Extender was at fault, now the question remains, is it possible to get it functioning in a way that does not bring back the transparency issue? (I only use godrays on that)
Tomlong54210
Do not just disable your mods. Completely uninstall them and see if the problem persists. That means, you should not have a Meshes or Textures folder in your Data folder. Delete them after uninstalling your mods with OBMM. Edit: I sounds like you have different water meshes installed or something. Completely uninstall your mods. I did not think there was a setting in the Oblivion.ini for this, but I have not played Oblivion in months.
Miq
I always though OMM also deletes all the files in the OMOD since it deletes the esps when disabled. Anyways i only found a textures folder in my data folder. No meshes folder. I deleted the textures folder and the ripple problem is still there.
