ilikeme151
First off, I don't even know if this is possible, but if it is, that would be great. My idea is to have a mod where one can pretty much play a pirate. It's not a total conversion but does require a few changes. First off, a couple new cities/towns are needed. New weapons, and new NPCs. And somehow it will need to be tweaked to allow the player to pilot their vessel. Here is the idea. The player sees a new shop either in Anvil or at the Imperial City Waterfront called "Dockyard" Upon entering the player is informed that he may purchase his own vessel for a certain amount of money (this should be fairly high as a ship is not something one just picks up). Once the player has purchased the vessel he/she will be informed that a crew is needed to man said vessel. 8-10 new NPCs should be scattered around Cyrodiil, but largely found in water heavy areas. At least 4 of them would have to be in prison. In order to get these nasty seaworthy men to join the player he would have to complete quests for the ones in the world and through the Rumor mill find and free the imprisoned ones. After each NPC has been appeased they pretty much become the players crew. Now the player has a crew and a ship, but nowhere to sail. Hence the new cities/towns. Somewhere on an island in the Niben Bay/Topal Bay/and the Abecean Sea a new city should be standing. This city will be talked about by the people living in the Waterfront/Bravil/Leyawiin/Anvil wherever it is close and accessible to. The place doesn't have to be large, but should be built with good strong walls, a fairly extensive guard force, about 10-15 NPCs with houses and businesses and so on and so forth. Here the player has two options. OPtion number one, put into port quietly and go trade with the locals, who are wanting goods from the mainland and have island-specific goods you can sell on the mainland. THis way the player becomes a sailing merchant. Option number two. Attack the city, ransack the treasury and high tail it back to the mainland. The player is pretty much a pirate here. Your vessel should be equipped with a ballista, a catapult, and some sort of flame spell (much like Historical Greek fire or napalm). The city should have a ship as well that attacks your own when it is made known that you are a pirate. (I guess you could run up a flag before you attacked the city). When attacking the city, the player has to weaken the walls and morale of the people inside by bombarding it before he/she can land and go loot the treasury, fighting through the town's guards, while the citizens cower in fear. Each time the player goes out on raids, the city should become better equipped with a stronger force, so that the player is faced with a challenge. Once the player has sacked the town a few times with his original 8-10 crewmembers, his fame will become large enough that a few more seaworthy sorts come to find him. These men will be found in taverns on waterfronts and will give the player a pop-up saying there are men who wish to speak with him. As well as these guys, there should be rival pirate "clans" that get pissed off at the player and either attack him/her on the high seas or when he enters the tavern looking for more crewmembers. While 8-10 crewmen will "belong" to the player, only a few (2-3) should be allowed to accompany the player onshore of a friendly settlement. Upkeep of the vessel as well as supplies of food and weapons would need to be provided for the ship and the crew. If this mod is possible I would love to see it. I have some extra ideas on where to find the NPCs and stuff like that, if someone wants to pick this up just e-mail me at [email protected]. (I wish I knew how to mod)

ilikeme151
I have that game. Something relevant to the Oblivion world. Don't make that the basis of gameplay. Pirates! was fun, i enjoyed it. Now I'm playing Oblivion. I saw an idea for a pirates mod on another site and I ran with it. For me the most interesting part would be the 8-10 quests to get the guys on your side. I'm just looking to see if people would want to play this, and if enough do, then someone will pick it up. Because I can't work the CS. Got a good tutorial anywhere?
