feamith
Now I know that there are some treasure maps that can lead you to hidden treasure that is not highlighted on the map, but this is a bit different. My suggestion is to place clues within lore books of skyrim (wherever possible) that could lead you to hidden treasures. Of course this could only be done for books where lore includes the skyrim area (maybe Solstheim too). This idea came to me when I started collecting books. I decided to read them and learn more about the elder scrolls world. And while elder scrolls fans will find enough satisfaction just in knowing something more about the lore, I thought maybe sometimes books can point you to certain locations, kinda like treasure maps. This would serve as a new incentive to read the elder scrolls lore books because who doesn't like exploring and getting new powerful items through 'hidden' clues. I'm not sure if this is doable so let me know if it is/isn't. Once I get to reading the books I may have more suggestions on where precicely to put these clues. Also I'm not sure if this is already implemented and i haven't realized it yet. Just thought it would be cool and add an interesting aspect to the game.
notmyhome
There were definitely a few treasure hunt mods that hint at the treasure's location in books. Not vanilla books, mind you. I could try to dig them up if that's what you want. If you're keen on those hints being in vanilla books you'd need to supply a few examples of which books are suitable to serve as clues for treasures. One I could imagine is the book The Exodus which talks about an island north of Skyrim that's inhabitated by Necromancers. That'd be easy enough to make for some people around here (mind you, I'm not one of them; the only things I know about CK is how to open and close it). feamith
See, you already got an example. I just read several books, I'm gathering them for later when I'm bored. Also, new lore could be introduced. If you, like, find a cave that links to no quests you make up a story that relates to that cave...and you hint to treasures that lie within.Ya, I don't know how to create mods either, that's why I posted this here. But I will post suggestions on books when i start reading them.
Renmaaru
I will tinker with this idea and if i come up with something i will release within the week.
